So we are doing some journals now and I want to put in place a few rules. If you have any concerns please PM me.

Rules
****

*ONLY POST WHAT YOU WANT OTHERS TO READ AND COMMENT ON. THESE ARE NOT OPEN DISCUSSION THREADS SO PLEASE RESPECT THE PERSON WHO IS POSTING THE JOURNAL IF THEY PREFER NOT TO DISCUSS THINGS IN THEIR JOURNAL. YOU ARE WELCOME TO POST YOUR COMMENT AND LEAVE IF THIS IS THE CASE.*

1. You are welcome to comment on people's journals as long as you keep it respectful and use constructive criticism. I will not tolerate any disrespectful comments because they are putting their journals up to help themselves and you.

2. If you do put your journal up, it is used to share your workout and diet information for each day that you feel like posting. It is a great way to keep track of what you eat and do. It is strictly for health and/or fitness, not your personal life, etc.

3. The journals have their own subforum now so please do not post your journal in the main forum.

I may add more rules when I think of them. Thanks and let's keep it drama free!

************************************************** **************

I got this idea from another forum. I don't know if you all will like it so that's why I set up a poll. I think that we should start journals (one thread per user) for whomever wants to voluntarily make one. It can include your workout for the day, food intake, your stats with lifting, your stats with weight and body fat, etc. Anything you want to include that is health & fitness related. If you say something interesting regarding an exercise or a food, you can write it there in your own journal post!

Also, this is motivating for other users. They can get ideas from these and get going on their own. It is motivating as well for the person making the journal. If you have a journal you are keeping track of everything and you are writing it for others to see so you may be motivated to workout and eat right.

Let me know if you think it's a good idea. I think it is and would love to see someone start it off!

I'm too hot/cold about my routines. : (

I feel like a schmuck being the first one to vote, and going with the "I don't give a crap" choice now.....bah.

I don't really want to put mine on another site because I haven't been a member very long and most of the ones that put their journal up are body builders and compete, etc. It's sort of intimidating. I just thought this would be a cool idea for here since we're local and some of us even know each other in person.

i tried doing this for myself a year ago or so but i didn't keep up with it. I was just journaling my weight increases and bench numbers etc.

Aw Regina, i felt so intimidated making one on that site as well. Alot of the girl lean towards more familiar users, so i didnt really keep track with mine on there either!

A sub forum would be great.

heres an Idea... and im gonna be very blunt about this

most people dont give a shit about what you ate today, yesterday, or what you plan on eating tomorrow. Its a fact that most people dont write down everything they eat b/c everyone slips up.

How about this, you all focus more on your training and/or lifting than your diet in the logs. People tend to care more and will actually use your advice and routine if you are actually credible. check out some logs like dave tate, jim windler, joe defranco, etc and use them as an example on how to create and structure a training log. Now this doesnt mean dont log your diet, just dont focus on it

So essentially you're suggesting that people make their workout routine description more detailed?

I have nothing against that, but it's up to the person writing the journal. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think its a really good idea, Regina. I honestly wouldnt really read the guys' journals unless I were really bored, but I would read yours and other girls' because Im always looking for ideas on food ideas/ exercises, etc.

I think i may just make my own little journal!
I actually made a spreadsheet yesterday to keep track of my food/exercise dailies to keep count of my calories -- but I would love constructive criticism from people on the site!

Diet should not be that different between genders. Obviously the only difference really would be amount of calories unless the guy is dirty bulking. Even my exercises (weight lifting) is very similar to what guys would do, just less weight. Feel free to check out my journal. Glad you like the idea.
