Kucinich causes House floor fuss in announcing Bush impeachment drive

Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich caused a stink on the House of Representatives floor this morning during a speech where he announced he'll introduce articles of impeachment against President Bush on Monday, Jan. 28, the day Bush delivers his State of the Union speech.
"We already know the State of the Union," Kucinich says in his speech. "It's a lie."
Republicans objected to Kucinich's statements, and the Cleveland congressman returned to the floor a few minutes later to withdraw his "offending words."
Florida GOP Rep. Cliff Stearns called Kucinich's statements a "clear and egregious violation of House rules" but said he'd accept Kucinich's request to withdraw his remarks.
"Both sides here attempt to restore civility, calmness here with legitimate debate and not utter personal accusations," Stearns said.

Kucinich is to washington what Gollum is to Mordor.
Last time the Republicans did it, they LOST votes.
Ugh! I swear to god, sometimes the things these people do makes me question whether or not they ever graduated highschool on their own.
This will just push him into the same place as Billy Boy...
When he's done as pres' he will get paid hundreds of thousands to speak at events and gatherings...
How much did this same exact process hurt Bill Clinton again? Oh wait... it is now helping his wife to run for President...
This is meaningless action these days.

Not entirely. It hurts the parts that is stupid enough to file them usually. America wants team players. You're not a very good team player if you're trying to kick out the group leader. I mean granted this group leader deserves to be subjected to very bad things for what he has done to this country...but impeachment just reflects poorly on the filing party.

So go vote form the rooftops with Magicstick. Best of luck to you.

It was inevitable. Was only a matter of time after Bush pardoned himself. I'm seriously surprised that it took this long.

No, it was in reference to the episode about "The Corporations" mocking college-aged liberal know-it-all conspiracy therorist fuckups. It was really a funny episode. But then again, so is every other South Park ever written...
Oh wait, that was the same episode. I think you're right!

Then what was all that bullshit about him trying to pardon himself for war crimes? Sorry he was trying to. But it still was inevitable for this to happen....

He's probably talking about the bill on torture that included an immunity clause for the Bush Administration. Congress passed it.

Then compare the last 30 years if you want a real measure. Clinton came in after a major economic boom...and turned it around. Bush Jr walked into a bad situation, that everyone thought was good...that just wasnt the case. The Fed was lowering rates before Clinton left office, a sign of a slowing economy. You dont hear much of that though.

Kucinich puts off effort to impeach Bush

After promising last week that he'd mark President Bush's final "State of the Union" speech today by introducing articles of impeachment against Bush, Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich announced he's postponing the effort.
Kucinich said he met with members of the House Judiciary Committee after making last week's impeachment pledge on the House of Representatives floor, and came away "hopeful there will be an inquiry by the Judiciary Committee."
"I will give them the opportunity to proceed before introducing articles of impeachment," Kucinich said in a statement issued by his office. The House Judiciary Committee's spokeswoman did not respond to The Plain Dealer's request for comment.
Last year, Kucinich introduced a measure to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney that has collected 24 cosponsors. His November effort to bring the matter before the full House of Representatives won support from Republicans who wanted to embarrass House Democratic leaders, but was eventually referred to the Judicary Committee.
