I trust that all of you watched the debate last night, and it's beyond me how anyone could vote for a Republican after listening to either Clinton or Obama speak. Every Republican debate has been a knock-down, drag-out fight between grown men who want nothing more then to tell the people what they want to hear. The Democrats on the other hand, manage to have a decent, honest debate with some actual substance to it. It seems to me as though the Democrats do a lot better job of explaining themselves then any Republican has so far.....so what did the rest of you think?

The devil can explain himself very well too... doesn't mean you should take the fruit he provides...

Seriously though, did you even listen to the substance of the words or just their tone and how "decent" it was?

(BTW, whoever wins, the other will be the VP - I call it here.)

What do you guys think about Obama's/hillary's position illegals and drivers licenses?

I personally don't have a problem with it. Although I think that insurance their insurance rates should be higher since they are not citizens. Also they would need to prove they entered the country legally(have passport etc.). They would also have to speak english.

It's simple.

If you are not a documented and legal citizen, no driver's license.

The main reason? No insurance company would insure or PAY for you if you're not here in a legal manner. Thus, you would now add millions of uninsured drivers to the roads LEGALLY if you allowed it.

Is this a smart thing to do?

:serious: I watched it for about 20 minutes.. Hiliary's voice was giving me a head ache so I changed the channel and watched a show about Hispanic gangs instead.

Very solid point here. Ive been opposed to this, but hadn't looked at it from the insurance angle.

Well we can all agree that illegals are going to be here no matter what. I mean crying on TF about how "they need to be deported" is like tossing a rock into the pacific ocean it will do nothing just like the "war on drugs".

I feel that there needs to be immigration reform, plain and simple. Review of immigration rules and regulations. Do I feel that illegal people should be deported? of course I do. Do I defend anyone that illegally enters the country and stays? no. Do I feel that the solution to fix the problem of immigration is to "deport them all"? No, I'm sorry I'm just not that stupid.

I mean you guys here don't even think like politicians. If you did you'd know that for most of the problems the government faces it's not as easy as "just do this" or "just do that".

Think of it this way. If the government decides to assemble a task force to go break down doors and export a whole ton of people that would take a very large staff from border patrol, homeland security, fbi etc.. Well all of this will cost a butt-load of money right? Which means what? Assuming this even gets pass congress it means a very sharp increase in taxes to fund yet another government regulated program that will be monitored and enforced in a half-assed manner(welfare, social security the list goes on)

I mean I believe in truth justice and the american way as well as anyone but in all honesty when it comes to certain issues there has to be some give. Not everything is just clear cut and dry especially when it comes to politics. IMO the reason why the american government apart from almost any other has remained the way it is for so long is their ability to bend but not break to suit whatever situation arises.

How?

Easy. Hillary is crazy, irritating, socialist, and dangerous.

Obama is rash, an ineffectual 'icon', and a little bit hard-headed.

Also.

The Democratic Convention has done some REALLY messed up things thus far in this upcoming election. I'm sorry, but if they can't even wait until they own the house and the white house to start their stuff back up, then they haven't learned their lesson yet and don't need to be re-elected. I'll likely vote for the Republican in this election if the Republican I kinda agree with gets elected. I can't say that I like either of the Democratic canidates anymore. And if you want to try and put Obama and Hillary ABOVE the petty squabblign and mudslinging....uhh....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Same thing you did in the other thread... simply avoid answering the questions posed.

Good strategy. You'll go far in politics....

I can answer questions all day if you want me to...the problem is the the misinformed and the unwilling to be informed are far more stubborn than I am to even listen. The most important thing to you and others like you are whether you'll have to take 10 minutes out of your life and register your small arsenal of machine guns (seriously...is their anyone more paranoid than die-hard gun owners?), and whether or not you'll be taxed to help pay for the services that you expect out of your government......when you're dealing with people who think that those two issues are actually serious problems, then all one can do is go with the flow and just wait it out.

All legal machine guns owners currently do have them registered.. as for requiring everyone to register their rifles and handguns .. do you seriously feel that it's worth it? Do you seriously feel this will somehow make a difference? Will it help you sleep at night knowing your law-abiding neigbor's handgun is registered in a national database? I personally feel the millions if not billions that we would have to pay to setup and service a national registry of all firearms in this country could be used elsewhere.. Services that we expect out of our government? Care to be more specific as to which services I expect out of our government?
