View Full Version : Do you want to see this forum merged back with FFA?
There has been a lot of discussion of this topic in the threads in this forum. So, I figured I'd set up a poll. Would you guys like to see this forum integrated back with FFA, or are you happy with it? Vote, and comment if you'd like.
Mods/Admins with a stick up your ass: Chill out in advance. This will remain civil or I'll delete it myself - you don't need to do anything powetrippy like take my access to the forum away, this is an honest attempt to poll the userbase and see what they think.
Personally, I don't like this forum being split off and would like to see it integrated back with FFA. There aren't many people who will take the time out to come here and debate, and as a result its teh same 8-10 of us bickering about everything under the sun. Before the random threads would attract a casual passerby and we'd get fresh and unique opinions on topics. In addition, every so often we'd turn someoen onto politics who would then get informed and start casting informed votes at the polls - if you ask me, thats worth 100 threads of pointless bitching and posturing.
Anyways, VOTE OR DIE!

Yes, absolutely. The political discussions are much more involved with the masses in FFA.

What a great way to start a civil exchange of ideas. And what userbase are you hoping to reach? The "same 8-10 of us bickering about everything under the sun"?

The way I see it, there is much more involvement besides the 8 of us who usually bicker when it is in FFA. Even if people only stop in a thread once and add a tidbit, it is more involvement.

I understand where you are coming from, and honestly I don't mind doing what the majority feels like doing.
My idea for creating this forum was to give the topics a forum where they could be discussed without the usual banter and off topic antics often associated with FFA. But, if the very people who are posting here would rather go back to how it was, who am I to argue with that.

I agree with Billy some of the banter and off topic stuff is annoying. You get a thread asking a honest question and people don't even try to answer it. I actually started to participate less in those threads because of that.

I'm okay with it either way, it's not like it's hard for people to find this forum if they have even a passing interest in discussing election/political topics. On the flip side, if a thread has become juvenile and off topic to the point of being pointless, everyone is free to just ignore it and let it die, last time I looked.

It was either that or I just rattle off a list of the mods/admins I suspect will chase me into here to start trouble. You'll have to excuse me if I harbor a certain disdain for certain people - the feelings are definatly mutual. ;) Anyways, you know you aren't one of those admins I was talking to, Billy. Honestly, I'm not trying to tell you you're doing a shitty job as an admin - I didn't even know you created this forum.
But yeah, hopefully a browser might catch the thread title from the main page or stumble in here, I dunno; I'm starting at the source and we'll go from here. If you'd like to post a corresponding thread in FFA linking to here, that would be pretty cool, actually.

i think the discussions are better in ffa. i really don't like the inactivity and the rules of this forum. but i do like the organization. its great to not have to scan through a couple pages of ffa threads looking for the political ones. it would be cool if the threads created in here appeared in ffa also. then we could could enjoy the convenience of having all the political threads listen in one place, while also enjoying better discussions. but thats probably not practical.

I think it should stay the way it is. I can understand that there are probably 3 or 4 disgruntled members because they broke the rules and had to get their post deleted but tough tittays. It hasn't been that long. There is plenty of activity. I say let it last for a month and see what happens to this place. It takes time to adjust. Afterall, it was just created.

You are just on a power trip with your newfound mod status. And yes, the rules in this forum are bullshit.

I think having the forums separated helps keep out the jackassery of FFA. A lot of political threads have gone to pot simply because of some idiots making stupid comments and starting a flame war. I say the more control, the better. IF you merge the two again then at least make some new rules for political threads posted in FFA.

Actually, I like the idea of this forum because Poitics isn't a joke. It's a serious issue that needs serious discussion. There are specific rules for this forum that could not be enforced in FFA. I think if given enough time, this forum will grow and prosper much as the other forums have. People will find their way in here. It just takes time. If someone wants to discuss politics, what's so hard about visiting aqnother forum? You guys want everything in one place. That just doesn't make sense to me. Why have all the nonsense posts in political threads when they're in FFA when you can have deep, meaningful discussions in this forum minus all the bullshit.
