I dont think he is going to get out. this race is still not over, there are plenty of delegates to get. Besides that, thus far no one has enough delegates to get the nomination.

Huckabee and Paul need to get out. It is now impossible for either to win, even if they got EVERY SINGLE REMAINING DELEGATE.

I think Paul's people would likely go to McCain, but Huckabee's crowd (or at least those who can see past the fact that Romney is a Mormon) would likely put Romney back in the fight.

Honestly, at this point I suspect a lot of back-room gamesmanship.

Then again, Thompsons not in anymore, so I could really give a rats ass. No matter who wins, I lose. Its just a question of how much and what I lose now.

Nah Paul will stick it out until the money is gone.. He has a message and the campaign trail is the best place for it.

I will give you that. I really do think that it was his foerign policy stance, which did smack of "everythings our fault" the way it was delivered, that did him in. As to whether its substance was that way, I really don't know.

Many of his domestic policies were really good ideas though, and if nothing else the guy planted some seeds that will be exciting to see grow. A lot of Americans REALLY like the idea of doing away with the IRS, and his emphasis on controlling spending has been picked up on by many other canidates.

If nothing else, Ron Paul will have proven to be a catalyst for some really good ideas that we'll see becom more mainstream through the next few election cycles.

Its a sad sad day. the only thing left to do is vote for the person that will not take my guns. All of the remaining front runners will tax us to death, and technically, beyond

You really in that much of a rush to enact government mismanaged health care, a foerign policy calling for defeat on every front, and economic suicide through jacked up taxes?

Man this sucks.. Seriously, But for McCain it's a great thing.. His moderate views will transend and pick up alot of the middle of the road people.

It'd be funny if Mitt get his delegates to get behind Ron Paul.. That would throw a wrench in the process.

 well if you put it that way....then no. The good thing for me is that I know it's not going to be the apocalypse if a Dem is elected....actually you'll be surprised how much better off we will be, even though very few of you would ever admit it. That's ok though, because no matter who is elected at this point it's obvious that we'll at the very least be getting a more liberal-minded person in office...which can only lead to good things.

Lets see raised taxes, abolishing of gun rights, a health care system that makes the VA look good, even more national debt and pork barrel spending (pork barrel spending in 2007 was 9 times the amount in 2006), more encroachment on the on the bill of rights (they don't use the homeland security argument they use peace and harmony, and for the children), and a foreign policy that will embolden our enemies.

But hey we will at least have gay marriage and embryonic stem cell research paid for by the government.

I'm sorry but most of that is just rhetorical paranoia....let's not forget that it's your Republican ideals that has this country circling the toilet where it is today. It's like you all embrace having a fucked up country as long as there's not higher taxes or gun legislation. God forbid we bring in some change, as it's more than obvious that this country's current policies aren't doing jack-shit for us.

That must be some DAMN tasty kool-aid my friend.

Heres the thing: I don't like alot of what republicans do anymore that what the marxist in a pantsuit and Mr "Im a minority with no other vote-worthy qualities" have to offer.

John McCain has been on the wrong side of all but ONE (Iraq) important issue in recent years.

He was against the Bush tax cuts, which proved to be good. Now he's for them. Whoopity doo.

He was part of the campaign finance reform bullshit which has taken power from the parties (good thing) and given it to extremist groups like MoveOn.org (BAD thing). Also, it was possibly the most significant infringment on the first amendment within the last 20 years.

He is an open borders proponent. Shit, the dude advising him on borders policy holds dual citizenship with Mexico. He has spoken to and been honored by "La Raza" (translation: the race) an ethnocentric group with ties to the whole Aztlan successionist crowd.

The dude has been in washington too damn long, and letting him run the show will just mean more of the same. Same goes for Hillary.

Obama is at least a fresh face, but he wants to ban concealed carry so fuck him.

No it's both parties ideals that has us circling the toilet. The Democrats are no better, it's just that their way of screwing up the country is different then the Republican way. I just like the Republican way because most of it is fixable, where as once you offer a public service, or add a new tax it's next to impossible to reverse.

The last descent democrat was JFK, the last descent Republican was Reagan.

I don't blame him, his campaign has been running low on funds for a while and I read somewhere that he put $5million of his own money into his campaign. It's unfortunate that the only people left on the Republican side are people that most conservatives don't really agree with. Kind of illustrates just how broken the system is. I really thought that Romney would be running this country by this time next year, not that I wanted it that way, I just presumed him to be the front-runner.

anyways in response to you and PPGMD, I guess that you all subscribe to the "lesser of two evils" way of looking at politics.....really I'd have to agree with that, although I obviously agree with the other side. I don't think that you should finalize your vote for President off of the one issue of gun control, but obviously people have certain issues that mean more to them than others.

Gun issues are important, why do you think the Second Amendment is the second amendment, because free speech is the most important, after that with a gun you can enforce the rest of the amendment.

The second amendment is the reset button of the consitution, that's why it's in there.

I gotta admit, I like you but I really don't know where or how you get your political beliefs. It's like you're living 2-3 years behind everyone else.

Then I think "everyone else" would do well to stop for a moment and look at the path they are being led down.

Most of the "bad" things we associate with government weren't set up to be bad things. They were erected with (in most cases) the most good of intentions.

The problem is, politicians tend to think "Look at what a good person I am! Im helping!" and forget to look three steps further down the road when our old nemisis unintended consequences rears its ugly head.

Global warming is a great example of this. I am all for being a good steward of the enviroment. I have serious problems when people start proposing plans to tax buisinesses and individuals for expelling a gas which the science isn't settled on the effects of.

Hell, it turns out even the climate and tempature data weve been working from is skewed and wrong due to a wide variety of factors ranging from improperly installed/malfunctioning monitoring gear to the complete lack of data from former Soviet Union conuntries (some of the coldest in the world)following their breakup.

Back in the 1970's the climatoligists (some of the same ones backing global warming now, ironically) were screaming about another ice age. If we had followed their advice then (intentionally heating the ice caps by coating them with soot) where would we be now?

Mankind produces just under 2% of the C02 gasses in the atmosphere. Why is this gas focussed on almost to the exclusion of many other potential factors (solar cycles, jet-stream shifting, axial tilt shift, etc.).

I find it interesting that these same "climate change" advocates who gulf-stream themselves around the country to tell me I need to buy a Prius don't ever make it over to China (which is churning out coal-fired powerplants almost as fast as we do Prius's...Priai? What the fuck is the plural for Prius?) or India, which is going through a similar industrial shift.

Why? Because they aren't 1st world traditionally white / european nations which are so arrogant and easy to guilt into believing the hubris that their excesses are killing the planet.

Besides, protesting the construction of a dirty coal-fired powerplant in China is a great way to end up with a free "re-education" if they dont just shoot your ass.

I believe it was the Communist Chairman Mao who said "Political power grows from the barrel of a gun".

Note that private arms owneship is banned in virtually every dictatorship, Communist hellhole, and other third-world toilet on the planet.
