I heard a radio ad on 97X this morning for a company that is selling foreclosure lists.
I thought this was funny. During the Boom people are selling mortgages. In a bust they are selling data to people that anyone can get for free at thier local Clerk's Office.
Oh well. At least I dont have to stare at a Dancing alien/large black lady on a radio ad.

People actually buy it, so why not make money off it?

Money is made off of ignorance every single day. ; )
My favorite is Universities and Colleges, all of that information and knowledge is free, and yet people pay $50,000.00 per year for a "Harvard" education.
Sad isn't it?

they don't pay for a Harvard education, they pay for a piece of paper that says "Harvard" on it. the knowledge they gain is a side effect ;)

agreed.
imho, knowledge gained is trivial as well- I learned very little in college based on coursework, moreso by conversations had with fellow students and debates.
