I have a Temper-Pedic over lay mattress its a twin size, its about 2 years old but it wasn't used to sleep on, personally i wouldn't buy bedding material but this was on a futon in are guest room and was used to sit on, it has a red tint all over it but its from the bed sheet that was on it.
heres a picture of it http://www.tempurpedic.com/themes/site_themes/imagine/images/other_products/mattressoverlay_310x310.jpg , its about 3 inches think and it still is firm, this mattress usually don't wear out they are $532 for the one im selling but all i want for it is like 100$, ill even throw in the tempur-pedic pillow that came with it, it was 90$ new...any one that is interested ill have pictures of my mattress for you.
