there is a rant section....
I dunno if there's an outage or something but if you're getting a busy signal when you call then there might be something big going on. I don't know why people lose their temper so easily.

Because we have lost cable 4 times this month... 1 or 2 times is okay.. 4 times is a problem.
It never works right in my neighborhood.

So call at a slightly unconventional time, you'll normally get the more seasoned reps who are also more lax with the rules and wont have to put up with ridiculous hold times/busy signals. Once again, you're never supposed to get a busy signal when you call in, if you do, that means that there's something fucked up with the IVR. Also keep in mind that you're the only one who monitors your service, BHN staff aren't mind readers and don't have the resources to know everytime something goes down in "your neighborhood". If it's your first time talking to some one about your problem, as far as they're concerned, it's your first time calling. Call them, get a tech out. If the first tech doesn't fix it, get another tech, call back and be assertive that some one should be able to fix the issue. Let them know that it could be an area problem so ask them to check the area. If they say "everything looks OK", believe them, they can't pull a history check on all 200+ modems in "your neighborhood" and for the moment everything is OK. If a second tech doesn't fix it, have a 3rd tech come out and ask for compensation, be reasonable.
If a third tech comes out and doesn't fix it, call back, ask to speak to a supervisor. You now want at least a month total of compensation for your troubles and a QA tech to come on site. If you get a QA tech or supervisor, they will take care of you, even if it's not same day. It's a normal process to order what's called a "sweep team" which goes around the neighborhood, checking every tap for a signal leak. It's not cheap for BHN to do and it's not a particularly fast process so it can some times take a week and a half to get a team out there. If you're still having problems after the sweep has been done, you can ask for another supe but really at that point I'd be ready to switch cable companies.
Before you tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about and how frustrated you are, realize that I worked in support for BHN for 2 years and was a lead. I know what kind of resources they have available and what they don't. There are some people on this board who work in support now and if you're nice enough, one of them might check your account and take good care of you.
good luck.

Thats what I did eventually actuall. I just get sick of all the line problems we have in Lutz... I have had cable outtages no less than 4 times this month already. I wished my APT complex would let us get FIOS. Im calling direct tv on rates monday .
having more than 6 channels is overrated.

steal your neighbors internet. That seems to be a popular thing on tf.
(I don't condone it, in fact ive gotten into flame wars when people post bragging about stealing wifi access)
Use WEPCrack or AIRcrack and I 99% guarantee you will find a wifi with a good signal near you.

Using your neighbors Internet is going to allow you to watch television?

Actually that is incorrect Sir. The IVR is just the call flow system, if they are getting Busy signal that means there is something going on with the trunks, the call server or they are just maxed on trunk space. If the IVR goes down they simple route traffic off of it.
