Shields vs. Masterson
Garza vs. Wakefield
Kazmir vs. Dice-K

I like the matchups.

Coco Puffs misses the series, kinda disappointing that he wont have to show his face in the Trop.

Prediction:

30,000 in attendance

20,000 red socks nutswingers
10,000 rays fans

at least 20 vehicles in the parking lot will be burglarized
at least 10 people trying to walk from the trop to their car will be mugged
at least 5 people will be arrested for trying to pick up hookers nearby

Oh, and the rays will lose

Yeah I think I'm going for Kaz as well. I love and hate these games. So nerve racking for me, but godamn if they aren't great games. If a brawl is going to happen let it be Wednesday night.

If we weren't shorthanded at work this week I would have taken Wednesday off and gone to the game. :( Guess I will be depending on my phone for score updates.

Apparently today the Red Sox were taking BP, when Coco Puffs came out to hit they stopped the music, and the place got quiet, then some fan yelled out real loud "Fuck you Coco!" Guess it was pretty hilarious when it happened.

Anyways, Garza vs. Wakefield. If Garza can continue his momentum I am feeling pretty good about this matchup.

I went on Tuesday night. Awesome game. I sat way up in 302, I love to sit up there, decent price, funny drunk people, and did i mention decent price.

But yea, awesome game. 3-1. Pitching looked like it was going to fall apart there for a little bit, but we came back and got it done. We have secured the series, im predicting a sweep.

What a game...WHAT A SERIES!!!

This game was telling because it clearly showed how much more depth the Rays have than the Red Sox. The depth is especially evident in the bullpen where the Red Sox look really shaky. But I also thought it was evident in the lineup changes that were made in this series as a whole. Maddon seemed have a lot of fresh players coming off the bench than Francona. You wouldn't believe it looking at the payroll.

This Red Sox team has a surprising number of weaknesses. Clearly catching is going to be a problem for them. Lugo is an issue at short. I don't know what the hell happened to that guy once he left Tampa Bay. He was a pretty good hitter for the D-rays and his defense was serviceable. Now his fielding is marginal and his hitting scares no one. Their outfield defense is good in center but it looks pretty human in right and left, especially with Manny out there. Thing is as long as your in Fenway, outfield range isn't as much of an issue.

Not only has this Red Sox team looked human on the road, their record on turf now is like 1-9 (or something like that.) I haven't been able to figure that out other than maybe their outfield range might be exposed a little bit more on turf.

Now obviously this is still a dangerous lineup even with Ortiz out and their starting pitching is as good as anyone. It will be interesting to see how what sort of moves they make at the deadline.

Unreal ..pinch your self moment this morning, while contemplating the Ray's 6-0 home record against the Red Sox and conversely their 0-6 on the road record; TB needs to win the AL east to secure home field advantage in the playoff's. Insert Dick Vermeil "Playoffs?...PLAYOFF'S?!?!"

OK Sux fans, lets hear the crying about the unfair interference call on Lugo. He was just innocently sliding into the outfield 4 feet from the plate. Nothing wrong with that.

hopefully we sweep or get 3 out of 4 this weekend against the royals.

guess who the sux are playing? the yankees!!! in NY...who are surprisingly looking pretty solid as of late (esp after yesterdays 18-something crushing of the rangers). must be giambi's 70s porno 'stache.

if the yankees can give boston some more trouble, and the rays win, we could go up even more. it would be nice to head into the all star break next weekend with a 5-6 game lead. plus if NYY shakes down Boston for 2 or 3 games, the yankees will only be a few games back as well, so it could keep those 2 occupied vying for 2nd place while we just keep on winning.

Yeah, buddy...we should be rooting for the Yankees this weekend as well...keep the Sux down...the Rays will take care of business at home.

The Rays have gotten to first place in MLB against the #1 toughest schedule so far...25 of their next 33 games are against under .500 teams...now is the time for the Rays to pile up the wins against the weaker teams...September is gonna be brutal...

Yes, we're stocked in the minors. I think the Rays will promote Price at the end of August. I think he'll make two more starts at AA-Montgomery before he gets promoted to AAA-Durham. He'll make about 2-4 starts at Durham. This sets him up for a start with the Rays at the end of August. We shall see!
