they are smaller and have a smaller external profile over a USB card

I was busting on his VERBAGE, pc cards do stick out less, but that's hardly internal with 1/3 of the device still sticks out. Also unless it's an ExpressCard interface, the USB 2.0 throughput will be better anyway.

Reading comprehension really takes a back seat on here some days.

My HP card sits FLUSH with the Side and all HPs are now Express cards see how narrow the card is in the pic. 90% of all the slots are express slots. and for analog TV you wont need USB 2.0 thouroput ALSO you wont need additional software and USB drivers to use the device plug and play use video software or media center. FAR easier. and Vergae reading comp ? you couldnt have stated your comment any worse...

USB - its fairly future proof. pcmcia is gone, and pc cards are next to fade.

unless you are doing HD, even USB1.1 will give you suffiicient bandwidth

I was going to say something to the tune of this.

I don't really know why you would need high throughput for an application like this. Once you hit the speed to meet the compression, the rest is buffer room. It's not like you're transerring television files over the airwaves or anything. It's just a streaming broadcast.
