300 had an awesome trailer too.
I bet the guy ruins this movie just like he ruined 300.
I hope they pick up some actual decent actors.

Are you saying you thought 300 was a bad movie?

The directing on that movie was 10/10. I guess you can't really impress the teenage "Iwannaseewillsmithbeatupsomezombies" group. 300 is one of the most visually appealing, artistically directed movies in the last 10 years and Gerald Butler was fantastic.

From what I saw in the trailer at the movie, it looked really cheesy.
On the other hand, Terminator Salvation actually looked interesting.

Sometimes the early trailers are really just teasers. Like remember the first trailer for The Dark Knight. It was just like a dark screen and then the batman logo flashes and you hear that Joker laugh. But everyone was like OMFG.
I think this will be like that. I don't know anything about the Watchmen, but I'll probably end up seeing it.
As far as the Terminator goes . . . . its just gotten to be too much. If you watch the 2nd one, they say that Judgement day couldn't happen basically, and then the third one says that they couldnt avoid it but that they survived it.
Then in this preview John Connor says that "this isnt the future my mother warned me about." That doesn't make any sense because John Connor's father was from the future, and I'm pretty sure at some point they discussed what the future was like, i mean come on, so that doesnt really add up. So basically we have to assume that between the 2nd and 4th movie they altered time and changed it.
Also for this one to make sense you have to delete number 2 from memory, and forget most of what they said in number 3. Its just a money making venture, but I'm sure I'll end up seeing it. THeyre good action movies, they just quit making sense. Oh, and where do "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" fit in with the 4th movie?

Obviously I'm not. I'm not saying the acting was 100% but the movie itself was fantastic. The score alone was brilliant.

300, for what it was, was great. it was 100% faithful to the book, down to the last frame. i honestly think it's the closest thing (along with sin city) to a direct translation of a comic book to the big screen as you can likely get. if snyder can pull off even close to the same level of commitment to the source material with this one, it will easily be my favorite movie of the year.

I think that's what the masses missed with this movie. If you hadn't read Millers book then most think that it was laughably funny or intentionally bad. The movie was supposed to be exactly the way it turned out. Had it been any different it would have failed. In my opinion Zack Snyder is in the top five movie directors of the 2000's so far.

How did 300 get ruined when it was almost page for page spot on with the book? I'd love to hear your reasoning here.

There is no reasoning basically. Everyone who has told me they thought the 300 wasn't good either
a. have no idea who frank miller is
b. generally can't form sensible opinions on why they dislike the movie besides"i didn't like it"
the movie was visually stunning, the story was page for page just like the comic which individually was pretty fanfuckingtastic. Just like people who would watch sin city and not "understand" it without having read at least ONE of frank millers graphic novels, so will people not understand the 300 had they not read it. Frank millers comic to movie adaptations aren't like spiderman/batman/iron man where they are directed and written to suit your run of the mill idiot movie goer by adding "token" elements to it like big booms, profanity and a plot so simple a dog could nod in agreement. his comics as well as his movies are a little different and made for a different audience.

Saw the trailer on IMAX when i went to see Dark Knight.
The movie visually looks amazing. Atleast now i know what film i'll be watching next on IMAX. I like how they remixed TEITBITE perfectly to play with the trailer.
