So this is the biggest game in the state of Florida this year and tickets are virtually impossible to come by. Anyone going? Thoughts on the game?
My thoughts....45-21 Florida wins it.
Tebow throws/runs for 3 TD's, #25 Brandon James runs a return, Amhad Black gets a pick six and the running game with Rainy and Demps score the rest. but Miami keeps it close with it's running game until the 4th quarter where Florida takes it.

I dont see Miami scoring more than 20 points on Florida
now, if the helmets come off and the shanks come out, my money is on Miami. Who know how they will react once the rout is on. They may pull off something out of the last boy scout

17-48
UM will get 2 TD's in the 4th, and throw a FG in there somewhere else.
while UF just rolls over them.
51-23 UF > UM
its at UF. if it was actually in Miami, it would be more like 34-31 UF (yeah they'd still win).
UCF has to play Miami this year too, that will be an interesting game.
and i disagree UF/UM being the biggest FL game this year. the FSU/UF game obviously isn't played up right now since the gators have dominated, but the USF/UCF game has big implications on both sides, and the UCF/UM game also could be pretty big.
UF/UM seems to be like another "1st week" game for UF to me. miami just isnt what it was yet.

UM 28 UF 21. I think Miami is going to surprise a lot of people this year. Especially with their running game. Their defense looks good as well. We will see. I think Florida fans are thinking they're going to run over us. That is just not going to happen as we have always played really good against Florida.

Ze, I know your heart is talkin', but when was the last game? This Florida team is nasty. I hope Miami can make it interesting, hell look at what UCLA was able to do, but I don't think so. Too many weapons.

Both teams have a losing record on its home field with Miami holding a 11-8 advantage at Florida Field and Florida owning a 14-12 record at the Orange Bowl.

I've been to 5 Miami vs. Florida games and we've lost all 5. I can only hope for my sanity that we win this game. I don't give a shit if it's by a half a point. If Florida doesn't win I'm going to destroy the city of Miami.

Michigan has about 15 more wins than OSU in their series. Matter's absolutely nothing. Like OSU has over Michigan, Florida has over Miami - talent and a really better team.
Good luck Ze, I'll be pullin hard for the Cane's for the upset. Just don't get your hope's up too much. This has the possibility of getting real ugly for ya. My feeling is these Gators will want to rub some noses in a fat smelly "L".

gators-38 canes-17
I just can't see a quarterback(marve) who hasn't taken a snap in a real game in almost two years making his first ever career start in a night game at the swamp leading his team to an upset, I know it's a brand new year, but there are a lot of players on this canes team that got beat by virginia 48-0 at home last year
if the gators can stay away from stupid penalties(they can't get involved in the trash talking that's going to be goin on) and special teams mistakes they should coast to a big victory. If Miami gets a big play early and gets some confidence going it will be a close game
I was at the game a few years back when the canes kicked the gators' ass 41-16, and that sucked, on top of that 3 of my best friends are canes, and all I can do is sit back and take their abuse. I'm hoping this year I can dish some verbal abuse their way
i would love a blowout, but i'll take a one point win if I have to

If Harvin, Spikes, and Hernandez play I see the score being UF 52 UM 13...
If none of them play I think it will be a little closer but still a victory for UF. Also, with all the recruits that will be at the game and watching nationally don't look for Meyer and the Gators to shut it down even if its a blowout...

This is Marve's time to shine. If we beat the Gators we could be sniffing at National Championship hopes. The Gators defense is not good enough to hold us to under two touchdowns. Some of you Gator fans are high on your own kool aid. I hope we can knock you down a couple pegs.

talk about high on your own koolaid..either that or you just don't know how college football works. sniffing national championship hopes? get real dude..in the UNLIKELY event the canes upset the gators, they still have a WEAK schedule which would prevent them getting to the big dance..a BCS bowl if they win the acc is their ceiling for the year.

Thus why I said sniffing genius and not going. If we beat a number 5 supposed power house like the gators that will sky rocket us through the rankings. Isn't Miami in the top 50 of SOS?

Florida by no less than 14 points. Then on to the next big inter-state matchup...What if USF wins the Big East and Florida has a great season stunted by a loss to an SEC champ that goes to the BCS title game? The Sugar Bowl would jump at a game between the Gators and Bulls. Now thats an interstate matchup to look forward to. ;-)

whoa now....how did UF play like crap?
I just got back from the game and it played out exactly like I imagined. The U came out to play. I was impressed with their D. So far they have been the only team to really force UF to make adjustments in the last year and a half. Both teams played great and Florida's D was outstanding. Holding a team with that much momentum to 0 TD's is amazing.

You are right the defense had a hell of a game overall but with a freshman qb playing his first game in the swamp I expected them to create a few turnovers. What really killed me was Tebow and his receivers. Tebow seems to be having alot of problems finding any of them down field this year. Either the receivers aren't getting seperation or Tebow is simply not seeing them. Also Percy Harvin at supposedly 100% should be more involved than what he was last night. There just seems to be no rhythm to the offense.
I have alot of respect for how Miami came out a played in the Swamp.

No shame in that loss for Miami. Ze, your boy's played a lot better than I expected, as I thought they could have been absolutely destroyed by the gators in the swamp.
I have been reading that UF needs to be a lot better to contend for a SEC or NC this year, but I don't think this game show's they have any major problems at all. That was a very motivated group of young but very talented players coming at them desperately looking for the upset. UF's D is better, and that's all they really need.

I think what may be lost in all this is that UF held miami to 140 total yards and 3 points
And I think Miami's D is a whole lot better than people give them credit
And we should have had that one TD at the end when we got hozed on that late flag

i'll take any win I can against the canes
i was impressed with marve's poise,he didn't throw for that many yards but he did not have any turnovers(kyle wright anyone????), I was surprised randy shannon put in jacory harris when he did, marve had just led them on a nice field goal drive and had some momentum, and he puts harris in, miami has a lot of talent,it's just young talent
the gators d looked pretty good, i would have liked to seen them create some turnovers, but the special teams had another blocked punt
the offense did not look that great, harvin only touched the ball 6 times, and the o-line was getting pushed around for awhile
it was almost a damed if you do, damned if you don't game, if the gators blow out the canes, everyone says well thats what they were supposed to do,and if they lost it would have been a huge upset, as a fan i'm happy to just get the game over with a W

Well...That wasn't a catch. The reffing in that game was definitely one sided, but I'm not using that as an excuse. Our defense shut down in the second half and made rookie mistakes. Marve looked very impressive, but pulling him was so fucking stupid. Even though we lost I have a feeling this team is going to be very good for the next 2-3 years at least.

Funny how I left the stadium last night and didn't see a single UM fan. You guys run away pretty freaking fast when you lose. I was thinking after all the shit talking you guys were spitting before the game I could have at least taunted one of you while leaving the stadium.

This is the classic UM mentality. Miami Head Coach Shannon slapping Urban's hand instead of a shake. He couldn't even look him in the eye like a man.

Yes I forgot Miami is the only team who has fans that leave after they're down by 3+ scores in the fourth. Miami & Florida don't like each other. That handshake was not a surprise at all. I bet Urban would have not done that because he is just the greatest coach ever.

I think the best part about this game was how our defense looked. Offense looked lethargic and confused most of the game, especially the Oline. But all of my questions beginning the year were about the defense. I know we have the talent on offense, they just didn't seem to be clicking this game. The defense did awesome though. Now time to rest up and get ready to go to that hellhole Neyland.

Agreed, although Louis Murphy talking all that shit and dropping passes early didn't help. We couldn't ever seem to get into a rhythm and I think Miami pressuring us was the reason.
