But don't watch. I get tired of hearing Fox tout their ratings every fifteen minutes.
Besides, OReilly never plays hardball with big names.

I've never really cared for O'reily. He seems to pursue the non-issues and stupid tabloid stories instead of the more pressing matters.
Glenn Beck is the only pundit on TV who I like at the moment.

Not a fan either. But sometimes he has some good segments. Rarely I should say.
He will pussyfoot around Obama and then Fox will fill time slots for weeks showing clips of Obama in "the lion's den."

Hell if fox wanted to impress me they would let Ted Nugent or Fred Thompson be the surprise interveiwer.
That would be entertaining!

I watched it. There was nothing to see. ORielly gave in that Obama was right about the war but when he tried to get Obama to give in about being wrong about the surge he wouldn't give in. No big deal really.
Gawd, this election year is absolutely horrible, horrible, horrible. Palin has made it a little interesting but the VP is the second string. You can only get so excited over the backup.

So it was a softball fest then? Im not terribly surprised.
On your other note, I read something funny on a blog the other day, this was immediately after the Palin nomination:
Liberal Co-worker to blogger: "What if McCain is elected and drops dead of a heart attack on his first day? He is pretty old"
Conservative Blogger to co-worker "We can dream"

It's possible. The ol' man only made it to 70 but the mom is 96.
Out of the four Palin is the only one I kinda like.

You and America. She's currently got the highest favoribillity rating in the polls amoung the candidates and their VP picks.

Not a softball fest, but Oriley was sitting in front of the possible next leader of the free world, I'm sure he wanted to show a bit more respect and candor than usual.
But then again it was like a 3 minute segment, they are going to break it down with 5 different parts which is dumb.
I am waiting for billo to ask about Ayres (rezko i don't think is a much of a story).

Rezko is pretty tangental to Obama other than his homes financing.
Ayers on the other hand is something that has the Obama Campaign in a tizzy. Last week they were threatening manue broadcasters with criminal complaints about running ads from a PAC that was linking Obama to Ayers. That picture of him standing on the stairs in Bill Ayers house speaking to people at a party with none other than George Soros sitting next to him is pretty damning for someone claiming to be bringing something new to politics.

I'm torn over the Ayres thing, as i don't know much about him other than his youthful radical activities in the 60's during a time of enormous cultural strife in America. From what i have read is that the man has turned over a new leaf, committing himself and work to education and education reform which seems noble, while keeping his political leanings.
I guess the question is, can a person turn over a new leaf after doing what he did? and if you can, would it be appropriate still for an elected officials to have business dealings with you (i don't think anyone is suggesting that Obama agrees one bit with what Ayres did in his youth or radical activities in general)

Honestly jabtay is right about this guy, he has made many statements regarding his feelings that they didn't blow enough stuff up. He's an unrepentant terrorist who is only free on a technicality.

You actually bring up a funny point here. I wore my Fred Thompson '08 t-shirt to an anime convention once (didn't really think, just grabbed a clean shirt).
Now mind you, I walking around amoungst people dressed as anime characters, and I was getting more weird looks than the Bible Black schoolgirls. The real laugh came when I stopped at a merchandise dealer and dropped a few hundred bucks on some rare swag, the guy sees my shirt as Im forking over cash motions to it and says "figures, you can afford to buy something instead of just looking". I got a chuckle out of that, and my Motoko Kusanagi stature looks bitchin on my display shelf at home.
I've also noticed that photograpy and art boards I read/post to on a regular basis are generally very democrat leaning (or at least the more politically vocal folks are). Frankly, when Im in the mood for art, Im not in the mood for politics.
It's funny how people often associate certain political leanings with certain hobbies and occupations.
Sadly in some occupations, not being politically "correct" can lead to problems (i.e. being a conservative in Hollywood).
