Can someone answer one question....

I was at the game.. and sitting in the nose bleeds.

There was a fumble and we returned for a TD. I couldn't see how the hell the ball got loose. Nor could I see it on the replay on the big screens.

How the eff did the ball get loose?

Ep41382
09-28-2008, 09:18 PM
yes, Brooks knocked it loose, and Phillips picked it up and returned it

this is what worries me. i'm glad to see the defense gelling and actually closing out a game, the running game is stout and can get things done... but fuck me running, greise's gotta get a hold of the INTs. That kind of shit will cost you the game more often than not.

I have several observations.

The bucs have been winning games that they have been turning the ball over alot in against GOOD teams. To me this says that the bucs have a VERY good TEAM. They have alot of talent in all fazes of the game and can hang with any team in the league right now.

Griese has been playing awesome save for 3-4 HORRABLE throws a game. If he can stop doing that I can see the bucvs going to the superbowl playing the way they are. You take those int's away and you have blow outs against the bears and packers. 2 teams considered to be top teams in the NFL right now.

And how about Gaines Adams. Hes been getting pressure on the QB's the last couple of weeks and has 2 interceptions the past 2 games. His play is improving.

Yeah, Gaines just took over Green Bays last possesion, running Rodgers out of bounds for a sack then getting the game-winning INT. Seems to get better every week.

Honestly Griese hasn't LOST us any games, but he really hasn't been helping either. If he was throwing 4 TD passes a game maybe it would be acceptable averaging about 3 INT's a game, but he's not.

I wish they would try to get Luke McCown primed as the started, great mobile QB(Garcia), but can have good pocket presence at the same time(Griese).

Denver has no defense, I hope Grease has not INT and we control that game from start to finish.

I know Denver has the #1 rated offense and they are playing at home, but we have the kind of defense that will take care of that.

Go Bucs....

J-Dizzle
09-30-2008, 10:08 AM
^ Ya Denvers defense is horrible against the pass, just look at their last two games. Drew Brees and the Saints just opened up holes in the secondary. This should be a scoring fest for us i hope cause if our Defense plays the way they have been we can go along way this season.

dan

the bucs have yet to be really tested, IMO.

the saints game might have been different had griese played. the saints are so-so.

the falcons are on the lower end still, but are showing progress.

the bears are so-so.

the packers are so-so. they had a good first two games, but dallas exposed them.

the bucs really squeaked by the last 2 wins. one in OT, this one in the final minutes. if griese keeps the INTs down, this team is good. right now, they are above mediocre, but not great yet.

the real tests are going to be in 3 of the next 4 weeks before their bye.

@denver - bucs can win this game if they shut denver down like KC did.
carolina - nothing to scoff at, carolina is looking sharp this season so far.
seattle - a trap game maybe, they'll likely be 1-4 by the time they get to tampa.
@dallas - tampa never seems to get it done in dallas. if the bucs won this one, i would be impressed.
@kansas city - may be like 2-5 or something. should be easy pickins.
bye - and what a great place for a bye, just about in the middle of the season.
minnesota - depends which minn team shows up. bucs should have it.
@detroit - lol @ detroit.
new orleans - i think it will be different this time.
@carolina - dont know yet
@atlanta - i think the bucs can go into rowdy ATL and get this win. depends how much growing up matt ryan has done since week 2 and how Atlanta is faring overall by then. they may be looking to play spoiler.
san diego - if the bucs are headed for the playoffs, this will be the test to see if they'll get past the first round.
oakland - could be a tuneup or a trap game, oakland has the talent and the speed, they'll get a new coach soon and maybe turn it around.

the bucs have the last 2 games at home which really helps, and will be wrapped up with division play by week 15 @ atlanta, so they will have 2 weeks to really figure out their post season goals and having SD and Oakland at home should give them momentum and the chances to secure some home field adv.

it would be ridiculous to have the bucs in the super bowl here at home. i dont know if thats happened before or not.

Seattle has all sorts of issues going on right now. After the next 2 weeks before we play them i think well see what both teams have to offer. As far as the rest of the schedule goes, Minnesota could be a challenging game but a game we should win.The last 2 games against San Diego and Oakland will be a decent test if we are going to the playoffs.

1st downs 17 17

3rd Down Conversions 6-15 6-15

I'm only worried about Seattle because Gruden has never beat them as a our head coach (0-3) and was 3-3 in Oakland. Holmgren has him figured out. Panthers are looking good right now. 34-0 is like damn.

The D held them to 16 points at home, thats a definant pass for them. Why the offense tried to keep running plays the outside was beyond me, that and the stupid little check-down passes over the middle.

Invesco field is tough to win in. Not sure what happened on offense today, but I think Griese proved that they only way he can move the football is when he throws ~3 picks a game, today he was just content with stalled drives because he was worried about throwing the pick.

You know how much water that kind of stupid shit holds? None. All that matters is this team this year. Gruden or anyones record against another team is irrelevant. Thats just stupid fan newspaper filler.

Anyway, I also forgot to mention Grieses play. He was terrified to make a mistake. He knew he was about to get yanked for the int. So he played it too safe with dink and dunk passing. I hope garcia starts next week.
