Good, pure protien powder and Glutamine will help you pretty much. Theres some things out there that work better, but the FDA doesn't like them very much.

Lactic acid is just a biproduct of overexertion in the body. When you have lactic acid pooling in a muscle group, it causes the muscle pain you are speaking of. The best way to curb that ASAP is to do a light session with bodyweight or tension bands the following day. Say its your legs that are hurting, the next day, go walk a mile or so. No heavy exertion, just the movement will work out the lactic acid. Also, do some research on method known as "active recovery". Im in process of trying this myself to see if it helps with my strength levels.

as far diet goes, There isnt much you can do. Keep your potassium levels up, and have a simple carb "overdose" directly after your session. When i say directly, I mean when you are still sweating. Bring it with you do the gym. this, along with a little bit of liquid protien will jump start muscle recovery and get you back into an anabolc state ASAP. Hope that helps
