So I was thinking... Jeff Garcia won't be back next year unless hell freezes over. Plus hes up there in age anyway.
That leaves Griese and McCown... WTF are the bucs gonna do for a QB? Honestly, I don't think either of them can get the job done for a whole season. I mean, they are good QB's but they aren't good enough to lead a team for a full season I don't think. Let alone lead us through the playoffs and a possible superbowl...
So are we gonna get Donovan McNabb? Whos a free agent next year? They gonna draft a QB in first round? I can't see Gruden doing that...
What do you all think?

A lot of people think Josh Johnson is going to be the future QB here. The kid is an athlete, but I don't know about him. I think he definitely has a chance to be something great, but with his speed and size he should be a WR. I don't see Donovan leaving Philly, and I don't think we have enough to trade for him. And lets face it Gruden most likely will never start another young QB unless he has no other choice.
Free Agent QBs:
Charlie Batch UFA Pittsburgh Steelers Free Agent
Brock Berlin RFA St. Louis Rams Free Agent
Kyle Boller UFA Baltimore Ravens Free Agent
Matt Cassel UFA New England Patriots
Kerry Collins UFA Tennessee Titans
Charlie Frye UFA Seattle Seahawks
Jeff Garcia UFA Tampa Bay Buccaneers
David Garrard UFA Jacksonville Jaguars
Rex Grossman UFA Chicago Bears
J.P. Losman UFA Buffalo Bills
Luke McCown UFA Tampa Bay Buccaneers
J.T. O'Sullivan UFA San Francisco 49ers
Kyle Orton UFA Chicago Bears
Patrick Ramsey UFA Denver Broncos
Kurt Warner UFA Arizona Cardinals
Anthony Wright UFA New York Giants

I didn't name Josh cause we just haven't seen anything out of him. Even in preseason he hardly got any snaps. I don't see him being ready for next year. I also don't see Donovan leaving philly either. Plus I think hes still under contract and the eagles wont let him go for an acceptable price.
So that leaves...

If josh johnson could catch the ball I don't see why Gruden wouldn't throw him in at WR to at least get him game time. He probably has no WR experience so that would be a waste of time unless he really showed he had what it took. Eh whatever...

I don't see why not, apparently he would consider throwing Talib in as a WR. McCown seems to be a safe bet for next year, but who knows... next year is a whole World away.

Well the thing is he is very smart and picks the game up quick. So they think he would learn the routes quick. Plus he was a track star and has a 40 time of 4.53. McCown is a free agent next year by the by.

When Gruden first got here he toyed with Ronde Barber playing some receiver or catching balls out of the backfield and of course he had Sapp at TE.
So obviously he doesn't mind putting people in places they can be effective.
But maybe hes worried about messing up his progress by taking his focus away from developing as a QB.

Under Gruden and Bruce Alan the bucs have been VERY hesitant to deal away draft picks for players. They've also been very stingy with money. Derek Anderson just got a big contract.

isn't kurt warner like 50?
i think greise's the starter next year, unless mccown pulls some kind of miracle out of his ass... or we trade for someone, but that's a long shot as previously mentioned. i don't see any of the good QBs on the UFA list actually making it to free agency.
clearly their best move is to bring a all-time-great out of retirement. Like Shaun King

Getting rid of people?

yeah, i'm kinda confused by that one too.
who are they supposed to get rid of? the only person i can think of offhand that there's any cause to give them the axe, besides garcia, is michael clayton (unless he pulls some crazy shit for the rest of the season... i like the guy but he just hasn't produced).

he is getting older, but kurt warner would not suck imho. i am sure garcia and gruden wont feel the love, but resigning him would be my first choice since he is already comfortable with the system.

Claytons playing well with the oppurtunities he is given. Hes not playing like a star but hes not playing badly either. He wouldn't be a starter while galloway is hurt if Gruden thought he sucked.
