it assists with muscle building, but it doesnt help you lose weight. In an indirect way, it helps with fat loss b/c a larger muscle structure means a high metabolic rate, but thats it. If you looking to get a little edge for strength training, then I reccomend it, but its no super pill.

i heard it was extremely hard on your kidneys and liver.

and my understanding is that once you get off of it you basically lose a good amount of any gains you made. is this true?

creatine is a natural building block in muscle. You get decent amounts of creatine everytime you eat a steak or a hamburger, etc.

Just like red meat, in super high doses it can put strain on the kidneys, but not a noticable amount. (no more than a night of drinking does to your liver)

When you come off, you lose the waterweight in your muscles(which you collect while on, in laymans terms, its what gives you the extra energy to lift 5 or 10 more lbs or an extra rep) but YOU DO NOT lose the strength youve built. One again, you lose the water(size) but not the strength, which is what you should be gunning for.

i might try a cycle then to see what sort of gains i get. i know youre suppose to take 2 scoops on workout days and 1 scoop on off days, but is it ok to drink alchohol while on it? not excessive amounts everyday, but excessive amounts maybe once a week? ;)

get the cheap monohydrate and take it with a sweet liquid, like apple juice.

the expensive creatines are usually monohydrate mixed with a sugar substance to help transport the supliment to the muscles.

You "shouldnt" drink (not my words, cuz I drink) while trying to gain muscle, but you can drink without fear of sickness or death.

My lifts have gone up and I haven't taken it in a while.
of course, if you strength train and eat a couple calories a day, you just might get stronger.

I would recommend creatine mono from either Optimum Nutrition or Prolab. Both use high quality German creapure creatine, and both are pretty cheap. I've been using my 15 bucks worth of prolab creatine for like 6 months.

I can't take it. I only have one kidney and it overworks it WAY too much, i can feel the extra pain there. I have multiple stones that i pass every so often (real fun!) and when i was on creatine it was one every month, blood in my urine from the jagged stones....so if you are a normal 2 kidney person it won't affect you THAT much more but if you have any issues not a good idea.
People think its a legal sterioid it didn't even do that much for me? To each their own, what happended to a good diet and great workout plan? why is everyone in such a hurry to get places? slow down enjoy the ride.

yes!!! I would stay away from it, and everything else. Food makes you look bloated as well, so id probably avoid that too.

good luck!

good luck!Well considering my goal is to cut down and look less bloated, i was just checking to see if the creatine would be counter-productive, I dont mind getting stronger (no real reason too), but my main goal is to cut down. So I dont really see the need for the Creatine, but thanx for the awsome advise as always!!!!:) Your the fucking man, great job at figuring out exactly what people are trying to accomplish!!!

You just need to diet right then.
If you are happy with your strength, size and whanot....you don't even have to lift just eat right and run. Do some situps and whathaveyou...done!

Dude, i give you the advise you ask for, then you throw in something that i never said and say ... so this will happen right?

I never once said youd be bloated, I said you would gain water weight. there is a difference. If you want to get stronger, then take it.. if you want to get like MattBack, then dont. Its simple

Its simpleIts not that simple, I will get stronger(good), but I will gain water weight and possibly look bloated (bad). I was just asking a question to try to weigh my options on if I want to use it or not.

P.ss I could stop working out right now and still be stronger than Mattback a year from now.

from what i understand creatine packs the water into your muscles making the muscles larger. so it would make you appear to have more muscle mass

LOL...ok

PS go check out the composition of YOUR muscle structure... tell me what you find.

for the record... im not being a dick, its just the ignorance of the major population kills me when it comes to suppliments. Creatine is one of the only supliments to not be banned by the FDA. Its been around for decades and hasnt been banned, and god knows the FDA loves to ban anything that can.

Take Creatine Ethyl Ester. This type of creatine does not bloat you with water and in my experience gives you great strength gains and an awesome pump. I would suggest MRI CE2 Hi-Def. It has a thermogenic booster which will help you burn some fat. Its a bit expensive, like $60.00 for 45 days, but it works great. I cycle on and off of it and haven't lost any gains.

That will work the same for building muscle, but you will get bloated.

Unfortuantely, all creatine isn`t the same.

Some more suspect companies use inferior quality creatine to keep the price down....some have a transport system, others don`t....some are effervesent, others aren`t....some of the truely BS ones are even in a liquid form.
