Which part did you go Gdad?? The 3rd pic, the one with the creek and trees on the side, looks familiar. Excellent shot of 'motion effect' creek, we did see a couple of streams there, but I forgot my damn tripod here in FL lol

Good work here Gdad!

I particularly like the shot of Newfound Gap with the tree silhouette.

We've spent 6 straight Novembers or Decembers in the Smoky Mountains, but we are planning another visit in early summer for the first time, so these images let me know what to expect.

The third image looks familiar to me also. If I'm not mistaken, #3 is a shot of the Oconaluftee River taken from the first significant pull-off near the North Carolina entrance to the park, situated on a bend in the road and lined by a stone wall.

Thanks all-

We were staying outside Gatlinburg but spent most of our time around Townsend and Cades Cove- I think next time we are just going to stay over there somewhere.

Regina- Pretty sure all the above were taken with either the 17-55/2.8 or the 70-200/2.8vr (Wildlife)

Just a side note on the water shots- It was the last night we were there I finally got out to do those right before dark. I had to climb about 30' down to the river to take a few and it got so dark so fast I could barely find my way back to the car.

This is what it really looked like- 30 second exposure. Color and exposure on the above was corrected in RAW.
