Okay.. I have been navigating through these markets by quick in an out and ith as been paying off. Of course in and out of the same stocks.
I need to know when to hold on.
I am up 12% on STI with a 11k investment..
Of course ya ya I am down 40% on BAC but with a 5k investment but I will just wait for that one.
I do believe there is a lot more reason to wait for some positive news. Besdies the divi isn't bad and could hold on for some nice dividend checks in a few years.

Ride your winners, cut your losers and have a plan before entering a trade... pretty simple :)
One thing to ask about BAC, why are you tying up capital that can be used elsewhere in a positive move? Are the dividends of a poor stock in a poor class really worth losing the potential in other moves?

But my losers aren't losing stock.
I have
USG
and
IR
I am down both in those 10 to 20% but it is fine for me they are both just looking up.
Also, about BAC. I do believe it will be a powerhouse in two years or so. I was just early getting in at 20 odd dollars. The do have it there to earn 2-3 dollars a share.

so what was the point of your post? your stocks are losing value and wrapping up capital, it seems. and BAC is a worthless place to wrap up money that could be earning elsewhere.

I set a 10% stop loss and sell my winners when the hit my target that I set when I buy. I was down 14% in 2008 and am up about 18% this year with that strategy. This is not a buy and hold market.
