Rearrange Us
Went to Deltona on Sunday and shot in a dilapidated orange packaging plant. It was really gnarly, too bad cops came after I only shot a little more than 35 frames. Boo.
So, I'm trying to make my photos a little more distressed, washed, discoloured looking. I'm so sick of shooting on a white wall that I just want every photo to be gritty and torn. :/ Let me know if there is anything you would change (camera settings, poses, etc.).. not that I had much time to adjust anything anyway. Models from L to R are Tommy Norton, Jill Greer, Ashley Pridgen and Justyn Voorhees. Stylist was Kayleigh Hayes with Rearrange Us Webstore. Kayleigh did all the makeup and hair as well. She rocks so hard. If you want to buy clothing from her, her website isn't up, yet, but I believe it will be rearrangeus.com or something? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I like your style more and more. It's like your further defining it with every time you post a new collection.
One thing I would try and pay attention to is how much eye whites are showing, like in the 1st photo. The 2 people on the right are looking too far to the left. Either have them point their eyes more right or if you're decent with photoshop it should be an easy fix. Haven't tried it, but I've seen it done. If your going for a certain focal point then ignore this, but in the first photo I recommend closing your aperture 1-2 stops to have everyone in focus. Then adjust your shutter 1-2 stops slower to make up for the aperture change. If you want to keep the background out of focus as much as it is step back a few feet, rezoom and focus. That should keep your depth of field. Last edited by buck19 : 11-04-2009 at 03:53 PM. |

if it's framed the same way, backing up and zooming in won't change depth of field, because subject distance increases (increasing depth of field) while you walk back. you end up with basically the same thing. Last edited by Miles : 11-04-2009 at 07:15 PM. |

Thanks!
I wish I understood what you are explaining to me. Unfortunately, I suck. haha I need to take a class to understand my camera... I just kind of shoot and edit and don't think about anything technical.. I can't grasp the terms. I have to have someone physically show me how to do it. I totally agree with the eye whites thing though. It tends to look a little creepy with too much.. |
