If there was a bomb blast and it killed EVERYONE whos at the SOTU address tonight, who would run the country until election time? My cousin asked me and I have no answer for him. Help please so I can give him an answer.

They always keep one member of chain of succession in an undisclosed location.

It's also a very safe location.

I think he was stragling a hippy under the desk during the first part, he had this happly little smile on his face. But Im guessing the hippy died, because he started to look bored about a third of the way in.

I got the joke, I found it funny, if it was the continued banter that continued that ruined the fun.
