....when I bought my Nikon. It seems like every major camera enthusiast worth his salt buys Canon. I'm assuming that there are lot more accessories for Canon or somehow they just make cameras that are leaps and bounds better than anything else for the same price because anytime I see some amazing photography, it was done with some version of a Canon.

Did I make a huge mistake going with Nikon? What is it about these cameras that you like so much? Is it the lens selection?

I really need a remote for this camera but I can't find one for the life of me. I heard from a friend about the meteor shower and I thought of a series of videos I saw the other day. Check it out:

I'd say these do a pretty good job representing "mid century modern" style

I had one of the most amazing times of my life out there. Hiking through the mountains of Zion was a treat on it's own. I wish the weather would have cooperated more. My IR shots lacked the pop in contrast that I'm used to due to the hazy weather. At the top of Angels Landing/Observation Point & Bryce we probably had 30+ mph wind gusts. Scary stuff when you're 6,600 feet above sea level.

Unfortunately, during this trip my D80 & 18-135 took a nose dive to the rocks. Only turned my back for a second. Lost the 18-135 and my P filter system with a GND filter. Shattered. :frown: I need to send the D80 out, but it may be time to score one of those D700's everyone is talking about.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the images. Please feel free to comment here or on my site.

Thanks,

John

Hey guys. :)
This place gets pretty close to dead every now and then so I thought I would post something to keep it alive.
I am, by no means, anywhere near "professional" but I'm learning more and more about photography every day, and loving it!
I have always LOVED this street, and a few weeks ago I finally had a little time to go take some pictures of it. So, here they are! Any C&C is welcome. I know they could be a lot better, hahaha.

Which lens do you guys think is the best for shooting weddings (& is reasonably priced)?
I've been researching this & a lot of people say the 24-70mm f/2.8L & the 70-200mm f/2.8L but those lenses are soooo expensive! ($1200-$1700) & that's just NOT affordable for me right now. LOL. So, any other suggestions?
BTW, I shoot with a Canon 20d.
Thanks! :)
