For the d-bag that said he "creates more than consume" and doesn't appreciate being called a consumer, you're quite misinformed and arrogant. Consumer behavior is how consumers behave, which means whenever you are consuming anything, you think, rationalize, act, become emotional, etc. in different ways. Notice the class is not called "people behavior", that would be psychology, sociology, etc. Damn Hicks.

You acquire goods/services that aren't rendered for resale/use in production/manufacturing. And if you do, the two conditions aren't mutually exclusive. Hence, just because you might buy something to make something else doesn't mean that you don't, in other parts of your life, acquire goods and services for personal use.

As such, I consider the word consumer to be a pejorative when it refers to human beings. I would prefer being categorized as a citizen or a freeman.

The words citizen and freeman can be inclusive of the word consumer. Your structure of significance that you build up around a word like "consumer" is strictly one of your own unique cultural upbringing. Just because people who you associate with negative thoughts tend to constantly be thinking about consumer profiles and consumer demographics doesn't mean that being a consumer is some how "perjorative".

I have a simple cell phone, all I want it to do is 4 things.
1. keep phone numbers
2. keep messages
3. recieve phone calls
and..
4. be able to make phone calls

That is all I want it to do, but, here's the problem with this..
I want it to do it 100% of the time
which is seemingly impossible for any service provider, in the Smokie mountains, at Ft. Desoto, anywhere..100%
and BTW 70% is not the new 100 ,in spite of what people like Bill Gates may say about it.
So when the technoids figure out how to give the same dependable service as the old 1920s hand crank POS that used to hang on great-great grannies wall.

I didn't, I was pointing out that old Billy seems to be content with less than 100% functionality, like some of his Windows versions.

BTW 70% is not the new 100 ,in spite of what people like Bill Gates may say about it.

It seems like in the technoid world, about 70% is close enough, even for our in-vehicle computers, they're supposedly state fo the art, yet are always behind in critical areas such as mapping. Most of us have updated the old map books that we carry in the vehicles because the "mapbook always works" unlike the computer BS.
Basically, I'm old school, and I just want the current POS to work, before we start the next level.
