I'm sure all of you have seen the ABC Action News reporting on unsanitary resturants at one time or another. I went on the website and started looking around. You should check out the archives and see some of your favorite places on there... God, it's sickening.
![]() Has anyone eaten at China Pearl on Dale Mabry (about 1/4 mile S of Busch)? You should check out this report, cockroaches infesting the kitchen, seafood reaching dangerous tempratures. I've eaten there once, nothing tasted good but it was cheap. I don't think you'll wanna eat there after reading this and seeing the video. http://www.abcactionnews.com/stories...tydining.shtml I'm sure many of us have eaten at Landry's on Courteny Campbell Causeway or atleast looked at it while driving by thinking that it's a nice looking resturant, right? I've eaten there 5 times over the past 4 years and 1 night after eating I was admitted into the TGH ER because I had severe food poisoning. That was the worst 4 days of my entire life. I understand why I got sick now. Definately watch the video before you go pay the moderatly high prices for the food there and then get a massive case of the shitz. http://www.abcactionnews.com/stories...tydining.shtml How about Cody's Roadhouse- a whole family got sick from a dinner there. <barf> Atleast Cody's admitted that they had alot of things to fix but it doesn't make it any less nasty. http://www.abcactionnews.com/stories...tydining.shtml Just some info I thought would be useful to most of ya'

Ehhhhh I bet you know some nasty ones... I just can't stand the thought of eating filth, I'd rather stay home and learn how to cook
There's a place on that site to nominate the clean resturants and to report the gross ones. I've nominated Tijuana Flats, their place is immaculate all the time and the food is so good. |

I will tell you this. All it takes to pass the health inspection is hot and cold running water, a m/f bathroom for every 5k sq ft, soap/ paper towel dispencers near every sink and a hand wash sink for every 10 employees and your cooloers/freezers have to be at temp. I just did the inspection on Friday for the new bar I am opening and its easy to slide through an inspection. Once your open the retests are easier to pass than the open test!

I know of one report that was bullshit. They did a segment at Osceola High school. They had 24 "violations", and they made it seem like the students there were eating shit from the trash. Only one was a food violation and it was fixed before the news crew even left. The other violations were like paperwork or something that were fixed also before the news crew left. They will do anything for ratings. I understand though if there are roaches in the food as said before though. That's just nazzty.

i cook alot at home thankgoodness. i did used to work at outback and they are very clean and strict about there sanitation. someone dropped a glass in the back once and it broke, it wasnt near the grill but they through out all the steaks, chicken, and burgers that were on that grill just in case. at the end of every night everything that has to do with cooking is cleaned more than once at extremly hot temps. i dont ever worry about eating there.

even the higher class restaurants (like one i work at) are susceptible to crap employees/unsanitary conditions. pretty much no place is safe, but you eventually realize that the human immune system is alot stronger than you think after seeing how much volume of the population can sometimes eat stuff that u would think isnt 1st class prepared food and there is a large tolerance level.
and yeah cody's on 4th near gandy has shit service and rude employees, attested to by me, gf, slow kyle and his gf. we even gave them 2nd chance and went back, got better but still shitty. |

As long as it doesn't make me sick in any way, I don't need to know about it. I heard stories from fast-food workers in high school that grossed me out, but I very rarely seem to become ill from food. That last time I got food poisoning, it was actually food I had made myself! Apparently even though I had used excessive saran wrap on some leftover spaghetti, even though I ate it only three days later, it grew something, and worse, I ate a lot of the stuff to get rid of it.
