LB 06 is illegal under Florida State Law. The Florida Supreme Court would strike it down two seconds after it's passed.
It won't pass, though.
Pinellas County Trying to Opt Out of Florida’s Firearms Preemption Law
Contact the members of the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation TODAY and urge them to OPPOSE LB 06!
This Thursday, the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation will take up Local Bill 06 to allow the registered voters of the county to decide whether or not Pinellas County should abide by the state’s firearm preemption law.
Florida’s firearm preemption law has been in effect for twenty-four years. This law gives the Florida legislature the sole authority to regulate firearms regulations and prevents local governments from regulating your constitutional right to own, possess and lawfully use firearms. It put a stop to the confusing patchwork of conflicting firearm laws across the state. This important law keeps law-abiding gun owners from becoming criminals while traveling through, visiting friends and loved-ones or just sight-seeing throughout the state.
Unfortunately, several counties in Florida, including Pinellas County, think they are above state law and have instituted gun control laws. Pinellas County and others are violating the state firearm preemption law.
On October 1, a new law took effect that provides penalties for local governments and government officials who willfully and knowingly violate state law.

The state gov needs to get the state troopers to go arrest any public official/gov worker that is helping to enforce any gun laws that are in violation of the current state law (a law that has been around for 24 years). The county governments had no problem with the law when they could break it without any consequences but now that they have to abide by the law (like the rest of us) they have a problem with it. Sounds like there are some gov offices that need to be cleaned out and filled with citizens that follow the law.
guns are illegal to posess in the northeast
notice to poster er'' one know da law hommie
What does the northeast have to do with Pinellas county anyway?
While technically true, they might as well be illegal because they deny everyone. I had my application denied. I am sure a few specially placed political contributions will get you going though.
But we do enjoy an assault weapons ban :/ I think the northeast was brought up as an example of what not to turn into lol. Many people up here are scared of guns.

They also seem to enjoy a good reaming by the tax man as well. But we do enjoy an assault weapons ban :/ I think the northeast was brought up as an example of what not to turn into lol. Many people up here are scared of guns.
^ Yes, and I find that completely, totally insane that they've fallen that low after kicking King George's ass.

This makes no sense, State law would trump this. Their county attorney should be disbarred if he/she did not advise them as such...
^ True, the Pinellas county admin is peckerwagging a lot these days, they're about to destroy their EMS system over there as well.
Living in Hillsborough County, we have had some really incompetent people in Government lately, Pat Bean (fired for corruption), Renee Lee (fired for corruption and legal shennanigans), Don Goff (in federal prison for child porn), Kevin White (convicted of sexual harassment, under federal prosecution for corruption), Brian Blair (incompetent), etc, etc
^ that's nice, Politicians should be changed like diapers, often, and for the same reason.
You have no idea. Earlier this year, Connecticut passed a new law that raised state income tax (as well as alcohol tax). Then, when the tax went into effect in August, they decided to retroactively tax us from January 1st, so they are double taxing us from August to Dec to pay for the back taxes we never knew we owed lol.

tar and feathering still works on politicians
I'm guessing they never heard of the legal concept of expos facto. It basically means that if a law is passed it can not be applied retro active. It would be like arresting someone today for open carry of firearms that happened in 1980 when it was legal (just forget about statute of limitations for this instance otherwise I have to type a lot more).
