Study: In US, 90 percent of black children will be fed by food stamps

"The fact that half of American children at some time during their childhood find themselves in this position really ought to be a wake-up call to America," he told AFP.

The study found that 49.2 percent of all American children will at some point live in a home that receives food stamps.

Among black children and children living in single-parent households, the percentage is much higher: around 90 percent live in homes that receive food stamps at one stage or another.

This is no surprise. It's quite a simple formula actually

- Despite how much safe sex is taught in schools, black teenager gets pregnant because she knows she'll get welfare easily and be taken care of.
- Black teenager gets medicaid, food stamps and possibly cash assistance to help her and her unborn baby
- Baby's born and she continues to recieve food stamps and gets WIC now as well as cash assistance and continuing medicaid. May even qualify for Section 8 housing where she pays are 150 dollars a month rent. If it turns out she has a child with a disability she gets social security as well.
- Her kids grow up and possibly repeat the exact same process.

Hispanics are up there too with those who recieve welfare. All those illegal immigrants that have kids born here who are americans have no problem getting gov assistance to take care of their young. And unless you don't notice hispanics are baby making machines. I dare you to find ONE of them with ONLY 1 kid and the father's still around. It's impossible.

Blacks have the same issue...

I think only single white girls seem to get that having a baby without a baby daddy is a mistake and seem to stop at one in that situation. Well, unless they make black babies... then they get the mentality of a black woman...

This happens simply because of a liberal ideal running a government program that could otherwise be helpful in a good way if run properly.

While on government assistance if one gets pregnant then they are dropped from the assistance. Make free birth control mandatory for those that want to get on the government milk bag...

If they don't want to take birth control, no problem, no check.

Thats fucking stupid. The idea behind welfare and all the government assistence is great in theory. It helps people when they are down. What really needs to happen is a revamping of the entire system and limitations be drawn.

I said that government assistance is fine... but the current implementation is what is flawed.

If you make more babies while on government assistance, you get dropped.

I agree that the entire system needs to be re-worked. Not one part of the system is working right.

Nobody should be given anything for free. There are pleanty of jobs (picking up trash, trimming tree's, picking fruit ect) that could be given to people on public assistance in exchange for the cash. Want a better job? Great, go find one.

Or in other words people with children should be taxed more. I agree. But then parents would just lie about having kids.

Child tax credits and dependent tax breaks are just another form of welfare. If you don't have kids you're fucked.

On a related note, there is a push for tax write-off for dogs. I kid you not. Saw it on the news today but I haven't looked for a link yet.
