registrations and background checks, plus a class on use, which is EXACTLY what the guy said he wanted people to do to own a firearm.
There is a need for certain types of ammo, if you were involved in the gun culture, you would realize it, generally, "armor piercing" (that's what the anti gun whackos call it) is copper jacketed which is used for hunting, "cop killer bullets" have never been proven to be used to actually kill a cop, "hollow point bullets" which are used to "inflict extra pain" also prevent a round from going through a wall and possibly injure an innocent bystander if you miss your target. Most armed confontations are over in less than 5 seconds and combatants are less than 7 feet away from each other. The anti gun whacks have also included ages up to 21 in their "teenage death caused by firearm statisitcs" which BTW is also the approximate age
(14-21) of most gangbangers.
Remember, when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away.
Since the original poster made a notation of Jesus, I will as well, I would love to see the day when the right to bear arms, is treated equally as the right to freedom of speech, in a New York art museum there was a crucifix of Jesus, in a mason jar, filled with urine, this was called "art" and an expression of "free speech", tomorrow I'll be picking up my surplus F-14 tomcat, as an expression of my right o keep and bear arms.
It will look right at home in my driveway.

FWIW.I couldn't tell you if Jesus would be an NRA member or not

Yeah the guy is a douche. There are tons and tons of uninformed and uneducated people that want to run along with Barack Obama and his complete wipe out of guns and all ammunition. He doesn't support guns or the NRA, nor is he even a member.

He'll promise you things, and then fall back on his promises. I also dont give a shit what Jesus would think about my handguns, and or if he'd be a member. i don't believe in banning any type of gun. But i do believe in banning certain type of ammunition. Why does anyone need armor piercing bullets in America? If someone invades us yeah go ahead pass them around like candy on Halloween. But otherwise there is no real need for them.

Nick, as stated above or previously in this thread, some types of hunting rounds are what can be considered armor piercing. Now the whole premis of using Teflon is another story for me. I dont see a reason for teflon coated ammunition unless the cops are using it on crazy whackjobs robbing banks in California who are wearing bullet proof vests, and bulletproofing armor on their arms as well their heads I believe.

The L.A shootout was nuts....

As already stated, "armor piercing" bullets are simply jacketed bullets. The term is used by nutjobs to scare liberal soccer moms and people like you into thinking banning them will make their kids safer.

Banning one type of ammunition starts the process of banning weapons.

Easy solution to that, just ban body armor too. Can't let those crafty civilians have that.

Teflon coating on bullets are used to extend the service life of barrels, similar to moly coated bullets that some long rifle competitors use.

the cops in north Hollywood were using 9mm Berettas which have no chance of penetrating body armor, and shotguns at too long of a range to be effective against body armor. the police had to go to a civilian gun store to buy "evil assault weapons" to be able to stop them

Because animals have much tougher hides then humans. And there are so few murders with rifles of any type let alone the so called "assault weapons."

Above you will see the complete numbers, but rifles had a total of 450 murders out of the just under 15,000 total murders. There are so few murders with the so called "assault weapons" that they don't bother breaking them out from other rifles.

You can kill someone with nearly anything, including those things on the end of your arms. It's the people fucked up enough in the head to do so against innocent people that we should rally against, not the objects they use. When it comes to protecting you or your loved ones you're not going to use the absolute smallest force required to get out of the situation. It's the situations you can't think of that you need powerful weapons for. I don't recall any of the principles this country was founded on having anything to do with choosing how its citizens arm themselves or choosing anything else for them, for that matter. There are other countries where the government chooses whats best for you, but I bet you wouldn't like it there very much.

Why have SR20's and or new ZR1 Vettes makes 600+ hp? We cant legally do the top speed they can see unless we are on a track that is big enough so why have it?
