Honey bees are a big problem! I'm not a fan of them when I'm at the pool but I know we need them.

Sometime after winning the 1986 Kentucky Derby, Ferdinand was sold to a slaughterhouse. Last year, 110,000 American horses suffered a similar fate. Many ended up on European dinner plates or as pet food.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture admits that 92 percent of slaughter horses are actually "in good condition." Most are pregnant mares, Premarin foals, wild mustangs rounded up by our government, and polo and recreation horses.

Over 45,000 American horses died in Mexican slaughterhouses last year; 30,000 more were shipped to Canada to be killed. During transport, these horses get no food or water. Some are injured or dead when they reach their final destination.

Mexican slaughterhouses have no regulations; a Texas TV station filmed the cruelty typical at one Mexican slaughterhouse. The horror was too grisly to describe.

We've thought about getting rid of ours also, but we keep it for the 911. Using a cell does not give them a location.

I still have a landline and an answering machine. I use the home phone for 911, and for people I don't really want to talk to.
I look at the caller ID, and if it's someone I don't want to talk to, the machine gets it.

^^^ Yeah, I give my landline # to car dealerships, medical billing people, etc.

Customer Service will be mostly work-from-home positions. I doubt that any smart company would get a completely automated system as there are still things that need to be discussed and answered by humans.

Luckily our alarm system has a button that connects you to the fire dept, a button to the police dept, and a button to the alarm company...and it uses a cell phone signal.....so no need for a landline....too bad once when it went off it took the police 20 mins to get here and their station is at the max 2 mins away
