why my shit is A private, and B I hate the internet sometimes. Too much stuff is relied on by the internet. Unless photos are dated stamped how can they prove photo times? I'd get a lawyer.
What I do on my time off (if I call in sick etc) is my business. Verizon I've heard sends someone by your house if you call in sick to make sure you're there. WTF is that shit? |

Wow that's a bit ridiculous. I've had jobs where they ask for a doctors note, but stopping by your place is a bit extreme. A large company like Verizon I'd imagine a lot of people abuse sick days. Sick days are for just that, you're too sick to come to work. You can't say "if I take a paid sick day I should be able to do whatever and it's my business". The company is paying you for the time as a courtesy, so if you want to spit in there face by abusing that courtesy I don't see why they wouldn't have every right to take that away.

For the regular everyday employee they are not going to waste their time. Sick time is a benefit of the job, like paid vacation, so using it isn't going to cause an issue (even if your not sick). Besides depending on your job you may be too "sick" to work but well enough go other places. For example, if you work in the call center and you get a bad ear infection causing hearing loss for a few days..... you can't work but you are well enough to go shopping. Say you ate some bad food and you work outside where you can't make it to a toilet in an instant......you can't work but you can go to your girlfriends place and watch movies. There are other companies that will call you at home to make sure you are there or some that want a doctors note, those that actually enforce this have had a lot of abuse in the past. In this woman's case all she has to do is produce a medical description of depression and she is back on the payroll. It's not always a 24/7, curled into a ball, crying on the floor illness (although it can be). Someone can go a few days normal and a week to months down. The down could be a couch/bed confining episode or a general apathy to anything with easy stress triggers to a lower feeling. She could simply have posted the few times in the last weeks that she has been happy enough to smile. She just didn't want to post the other pics of her doing nothing but eating and sleeping. Not saying she is or isn't really sick, but pics of a smile amount to nothing. |

I dunno what the law is in Canada but if her company wanted to be real fucked up they could've gave some BS about how her illness was affecting her work ethic and fired her, then she wouldn't have shit. Some people don't think about these things. |

I don't think they get extended paid leave in India, still wonder why we send jobs there? Fucking depression, cheer up and go to work bitch. There are people bon paid leave or restless leg syndrome, and chronic fatigue, fuck all those bullshit claims.
