The term varmint dont really translate well to Florida.
There arent that many things you can just go out and shoot here unlike out west where you have real varmints like prarie dogs, gophers, coyotes, mexicans, etc
I was mainly referring to coyotes, we have them out here in plant city.

I dont know how much of a problem Coyotes are here in Florida. When I was growing up in rural Pasco, we never had a problem with Coyotes. We did have problems with coons, grey foxes, bobcats killing our animals. Never saw a coyote in Florida until like 1990 when I saw one crossing the road up on 54 heading towards 75 out in what is now known as Wesley Chapel.
I also dont know if you can just shoot them. Maybe a quick check on the FWC webpage.
There aren't really many restrictions. Open season, any gun, can spotlight.
I hear them at night, seen them cross the road about 2 miles away, and something ate my wifes cat 2 nights ago. Only tracks I found were dog & I think raccoon.
Ive been interested in coyote hunting for a while, a little bit more now..

Yeah, that's the issue, I'm at the very back of a subdivision, my back yard is a decent sized retention pond with a few acres of thick woods on the other side. There is a field to the east with cattle but I've never seen a person over there or id ask them about using the field.
If I SEE a coyote on the edge of the woods, being only about 50 yards from my back porch, ill probably take a shot at it.

I have a friend with coyotes on his property. I've never hunted them but he shoots on sight.
