Something to train for....
I signed up for an event at my gym that's on nov 14. So in addition to my regular workouts I wanto train for these events......
![]() I know i should do very well in the bench press, and sit and reach. I should do pretty ok in the 400 and decent on situps....hopefully around the middle of the pack. I used to be grea at pushups but stopped, but i think with practice I should gain alot back. What I think i will suck at is pull ups, I can do about 12 but by about 10 I'm pretty worn. My question is how should i train for it? I plan an working on my situps, sit and reach and the 400 daily. As far as bench, I usually work my chest twice a week, I plan on doing my normal workout on day one and training for the event on day two with 90lbs instead of eighty. As far as the pull ups and push ups is it ok to train for that every day or every other day? |

i recommend training with at least 105... that way it will seem really light on game day.
find some jump stretch bands to train pull ups(wrap around bar and knee to give assistance), or have a partner hold your feet so you can train higher reps than bodyweight alone. great job in picking a competition, bud! |

I actually like to do 1 minute bench. I usually use 95 lbs or so, decline, and go as slow as possible going down, I stop 1 inch above chest and hold. Then push up as hard as I can. |
