TNathe, I was working at an agency when I did that logo so I wasn't involved in the money side. I work with people, talk about a budget and get to a place where everyone's happy before beginning. Most logos fall into the $500-$2000 range. After establishing the budget, I do research (mandatory--don't want it to look like your competitor's logo!) to find out what else is out there in the category and get a general feel for the kind of thing that should be done. From there I sketch out concepts on paper and talk with the client about which ones we feel are worth developing further. It's a process, but worth doing right if it's worth doing at all. |
