It was just a project that I had in mind. I wanted to roast a whole pig. Anyway, I'm now looking for steel sheet metal locally. I'm looking for something like 4 ft x 5 ft. I've searched online, but it seemed expensive especially with shipping. I figured I can find it locally. Home Depot only seems to have swatches of it.

go to a metal supply, HomeDepot is NOT a metal supply company. Apparently you have welding/cutting skills? If not how you gonna build this thing? BTW, if you find an old LARGE propane tank (like they use on houses) you can make a grill out of it, even mount it on a trailer.

I don't have welding skills, but I already have a basic pit. I just need a sheet metal so I can separate the ashes from the burning coals. I plan on drilling holes on the sheet metal. I checked out non-galvanized steel chicken wires, but they are expensive. Apparently, using galvanized steel chicken wire is not good if you heat up because the fumes give you flu-like symptoms.
