Getting paid not to prosecute a rapist?

You hear about this all the time, people paying off victims of molestation or rape to keep from going to court.

I always hear people talk about the michael jackson victims, receiving a lump sum of money to keep quiet,

So what amount would keep you from telling all about your rapist?
10,000? 50,000?

For the guys, you were raped by a another guy, What amount of money?

For the girls, you were also raped by a guy, What amount of money to keep you quiet?

Some states have laws making payoffs difficult to do. California for one, after Michael Jackson paid off one of his victims to the tune of 20 million the lawyers made it so they can bring cases to court even if the victim doesn't press charges.

I guess the justice industry felt they were getting slighted out of their share. I mean, how awful that a victim walks with 20 million and the lawyers walk with nothing, rather than the other way around which is typically what happens.

In Florida, the state can prosecute even if the victim dont press charges

Most states are like that....because you know, rape is a crime.

I don't think any realistic amount of money would work for me, but I don't think court would work for me either. I'd just end up killing them in the end and either getting away with it or going to jail for murder.

how much? of course i would push for as much as possible.

I bet most men wouldn't even admit to it happening to them in the first place. Let alone push for a settlement check.

I remember in High School hearing girls talking about getting raped like it was no big deal, and they "just kind of expected it" when dating certain guys. Really amazing to hear some peoples perspectives on things like that.

There is a difference between civil and criminal. I'm asking about the civil court, I know the victim has no say in the prosecution of a crime like rape in the criminal arena

I think it would depend on the kind of rape.

If I was attacked and punched, tied up...whatever, I don't think I could take a payoff.

If it was some late night date rape then for a few hundred thousand I might be able to convince myself that I led him on....I really wanted it.

as much as possible really..him going to jail is like going to heaven..he has plenty of people to rape now..

so overall id take as much as i could..

50gs if he was gentle, if he went rough and tore my ass open and now I have to wear a poop bag, I'd probably take the 50gs and then figure out a way to kill him before trial. After hes dead I'd rob him and get whatever I could for that as well.
