...1/2 game suspension against Vandy is WEAK. He's a great player, but a half game against a team (that we're going to kill most likely!) is no where near fair. That was classless and inexcusable.

yeah...should have gotten at least a game...maybe 2...but stuff like that happens all the time...how many stories have you heard about the things that are punched and kicked and grabbed at the bottom of the pile...spikes just happened to do it when the camera had a great view of it

I was at the game so I never had a close up view of things but from what I'm hearing it wasn't exactly the cleanest game from either side. Not saying what Spikes did was anywhere near ok, but people are acting like this shit doesn't happen in every game in the pile.

this is 100% true, but i think this is below gator football, hate to say make an example of him, but... let's be fair. if you believe in dirty play, you accept that getting caught is a part of the game... kind of like in basketball.

yeah, i see alot of comments online about how it's standard procedure to get a few punches and bite some fingers in the pile, but even still i don't think it happens THAT much. karma's a bitch though.

my biggest gripe is it's friggin VANDERBILT... if meyer was smarter, he would have just sat him the whole game. it would have appeased the media and the public MUCH better, and it's not like they really need him. Vandy makes Troy look like Texas.

I actually heard nothing about him. I didn't even watch the game. I did however here about the other 24 players that have been arrested since Urban Meyer has became coach. Since Randy Shannon has been coach, 1. And he was booted from the team immediately. Who's the thug U now?

However I think Spikes will be like a Ray Lewis in the NFL. Just my opinion.

I'm not gonna defend Miami players, but most of them are from the roughest ghetto's in America. Overtown is not to be fucked with. People in general who think players who come to Florida are magically going to be angels aren't thinking sensibly. I agree w/ ze's comments above (wtf is going on here?) You can try to calm them down and break old tendencies, but you are always going to have spotty success trying to break ~18 years of character issues instilled in a person.

Why is it when a player gets into trouble the first thing the haters want to do is demand his dismissal from the team. Anyone ever heard of a mistake? You know what I love about Florida fans? When their players fuck up its a mistake or an accident, but when FSU or UM players fuck up they're criminals and thugs. Whether or not it was an accident Urban Meyer isn't stopping the problem. Shannon has and yes he dismisses any player of any caliber if they are arrested. Seems to work to me.
