Orlando Magic trade 3 players for Vince Carter
The New Jersey Nets have agreed to a trade in principle with the Magic that will send Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson to Orlando for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie and Courtney Lee, two league sources told ESPN.com.
Courtney Lee is a young talented player. He will grow alot if he doesnt get inj. I don't think we made out of this one. |

Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis, "Some other big goon to help on the boards", and Dwight Howard. Thats pretty fucking stout if you ask me, 4 allstars and 'some goon' (possibly even Turk). Me like, Pietrus has just as much as an upside as Courtney Lee, he's athletic and physical.

carter will play SG, there's no way they'd try to shoehorn him into turk's position. they've already said they're willing to hit the luxury tax to keep turk in town, and i wouldn't doubt they're very serious about that.
they DID pick up a forward in anderson along with carter, and there's talk now that they might pursue rasheed wallace or brandon bass if turk ends up leaving and move lewis back to SF. |

Resign Turk and you have one good basketball team.
*edit*Reading a little more about it it, sounds like resigning Turk are slim now, but I like the idea of signing Rasheed Wallace, rumor is he is asking less then the Turk, would allow him to come to contender and would make a great pair with Dwight Howard up front. yeah, i'm starting to get that feeling, too. i didn't realize how fucking expensive vince carter was. that motherfucker's got a big contract. ryan anderson was a rookie last year, and while he won't be able to replace turk, he's gonna be really solid off the bench. hell, somebody was saying that he had a better rookie season than courtney lee did, so the magic may have done themselves a solid by getting that guy along with carter.

Gortat was probably gone anyways, but Yao's situation changes the game a little, and Orlando's gonna miss Gortat badly... which is one of a couple reasons why i wouldn't be opposed to them picking up Wallace, who could play either PF or C depending on the personnel they had on the floor. Yeah, he's lost a step, but he'd be a good fit, and could help out on the boards.

Rasheed Wallace would take so much pressure off of dwight howard in the low post its not even funny. He's a big body, long, strong, and active with a decent mid range jumper. No more double teaming dwight with turk standing at the 3 point line. Dwight basically needed a 20\20 game for the team to win last year, rasheed would help bang and allow ur guards to handle the ball more and not turk. And he is a better defender than turk....and moooooost importantly, he is a winner. 3 rings buddy. We lose turk and gortat and pick up rqasheed and vince? I think I can live with that,

Ariza's leaning towards leaving LA... wonder if he'd be willing to make a return trip to Orlando. He looked really good in the finals. Might be a decent fit with Lewis staying at PF. They'd still need a backup behind Howard, though, and apparently they might pursue some kid named Pachulia... never heard of him until tonight, but apparently he's decent.

Man Im fucking pissed hedo is better then carter(ready for flame) this shit pisses me off how old is he??? Its really depressing to see him go, for a guy as big as him to be able to cross over lay up or shoot the three shot is deadly. yeah carter is good but hes old I bet they wont go as far as they did this year and I will bring this thread up when the time comes. Maybe he will negotiate a contract but obviously he wants money.
