Retakes??
So I started college this semester with 2 classes. My first time in college and of course when I take the placement test I fail reading and writing by 2 points each. The advisor said I could come back in 30 days and retake the tests to try and score higher which would mean me not taking classes, I said no and signed up for 2 classes after books adding up to $800.
After 3-4 weeks of school my teachers come to me about my assignments and ask why I am in the class with the quality of work I have done in my papers, they don't get it and looking at other kids work I don't either. Should I go retake the placment test and just eat the money considering what my teachers have said and work towards my degree in January?? |

Well if you want to learn most of what you already know take the classes. When i started i passed the writing 95% and missed the reading by 2 points also it was like 70% or something. i took the reading class and it was a joke. i had most of the work done in class and aced the tests, basically the same situation as you. Its really up to you cause the credits don't count and to move on to English 1 you have to pass a state exit exam which is also a joke.

Personally, I would have never even taken the classes again in the first place. If you only failed by 2 points I'd consider that a bad day and retest in 30 days...maybe if the credits counted towards a degree, but since they don't it's kinda silly to waste the money, in my opinion.
I'd finish out the semester, but then again I love reading and writing so it wouldn't be that bad for me. If it's interfering in your schedule or you just don't want to go to the classes anymore you might as well just retest
