BHN Navigator Update

Looks like the next wave of settops is getting the new Navigator upgrade this week and began on the 4250 model SAs last night in some parts of the county. The big headache with this is since it is a new OS all of your display settings on HD tvs is reset. So if you wake up and your display is out of whack before freaking out take some time to set up your display again and it should be fine.

1) Go to Settings – Display
2) Choose “Output Resolution”
3) Select any or all resolution options – 1080i is BHN’s preferred Output Resolution.
4) Select any or all resolution options that match the TV’s capabilities
5) Go to Aspect ratio and set to 4x3 or 16x9
6) Go to picture size and if the customer does not want boarders then set to stretch.

HD DVRs should be getting the update sometime soon as well.

Thx, I've been looking forward to the update. I didn't even know about the navigator thing until I went to my parents house and they had some older/cheaper box and I was saying "wtf? I have the uber HD-DVR and mine doesn't even do this crap"

the new navigator looks good but apparently with the non hd programing you cannot make the box autoformat it to fit the screen like you could with the old navigator. That to me is the only downfall to it

Yah you can.. just make sure you only have 1080i selected in the resolutions setting (MAKE SURE 480 does not have a dot next to it) and then have it set to stretch.

A little birdie has told me that Samsung boxes are appearing in the wild again here in Hillsborough. There's no way to have a tech bring you one out because they are given what the warehouse gives them. Payment center would give you a higher percentage chance if the rep behind the counter is having a good day.

I like how fast it is on the Pace boxes! on the SA's its slow. Its like you press it and takes 3 seconds to respond.. and then you press it again and then it goes away.. ARGG. Im not a big fan of the Samsung.. Id rather have the HD digi's instead..but they wont let me turn it back in!

Yea the SA boxes suck with the navigator. I had the same problem with the menu.

also.. I cant seem to find the IP on the SA's.. the PACE its on the first page. but all it tells me is the HUB we're on and that's it. There's also a spot where it says devices, and there is where you can keep the extra electrical plug on the box to "always on"..incase you hate see'in other shit turn off when you turn your box off. I thought Pinellas was the first ones to get the box? That's what Gary Phillips said..

My hidef DVR stopped being able to record for about a month now... Is this why?

How do I know if my box has received the update, and is it automatic?

my box is somewhat old. i have the new updated menu's and such, but the lag time between channels is higher, and it needs a reset every few days, the guide stops working, and my remote i just got like 2 months ago sucks balls too. mine isn't even dvr lol.

orlando BHN is still far superior than this junk out in bfe lakeland.

No. Call BH up or try resetting your box first.
You'll notice the menu's look totally different.

I'm on day 5. My friend is in cop training for 26 weeks and I told him I would not shave till he got back. Longest I've gone is 10 weeks and godamn that was itchy and epic. A tip for the beard itch by the by. Goldbond Medicated powder. Oh it works wonders.
