No it didn't never showed any of the HBO/Showtime/TMC?etc. nor did it show their HD channels, which I mostly watch just the HD channels.

Only channels it showed that were not purchased were the PPV and on demand channels.

I've only seen the first season episode one of dexter, wasn't too impressed. Californication is a great show though, I think it's on HBO.

Minus a show or two weekly(downloadable) it's the same programming over and over.

That's because it's a new release. It just came out this month. Every month new movies will come to all of the channels and that month they get cycled then the next month they move to new movies. That ensures that even if you don't have a dvr everyone should be able to see the movie.

Nope. Showtime.

HBO does have some good shows too though. Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage and a bunch of other stuff. Also Generation Kill was badass.

Yea, I came to the conclusion recently that aside from series programming, Starz is probably the way to go if you want the newest content. They have a bunch of movies available On Demand in widescreen or normal aspect ratios.

Also, I have to admit that I'm not crazy about watching SD channels just because of the black bars but stretching the picture isn't out of the question for me. It does look a little goofy but it's a preference thing.

Really? thats kind of dumb.

Why did they do this update? I never get a strait answer from people so maybe one of you know. I agree the look needed updated but why did they change so much of the functionality of it? I can understand adding features with it but from what I hear it seems they just replaced features more then anything. It does look a hell of alot better though

Lets just say it wasn't just a cosmetic upgrade. Cant give specifics but look for some new better stuff down the road.
