I was just browsing the Verizon rants thread and so far the amount of complaints in there versus the 1 complaint in here... BHN doesn't seem to be so bad... until I add my complaint now...
The sound quality on channel 55 (Court TV) is horrible. It's mainly pops and static even though the picture is fine (as good as can be for non-digital) and every other channel is working fine. Also, no matter what TV or channel I'm watching, the picture and sound goes out for a few seconds and then returns after getting distorted/boxy. I thought it was my connection at first but my parents have been having the same problem (both of us are using non-digital). I would upgrade to digital but it's to expensive at the moment for me, I can't see myself spending an extra $56 for digital since I rarely watch TV as it is, but the few times I do watch it I would expect it to be watchable. ![]() Also, my dad is wondering if this is a tactic to get people to switch to digital cable. Honestly, FIOS picture quality is way better than BHN, as stated in both threads, there are going to be issues on both sides, this is the nature of any type of technology. But when it comes down to it, better picture quality, for less money, you make the chioce.

my only real complaint on BHN is that I can't get the 15/2 package without getting the phone. They tell me it's not possible, yet when my roommate worked for bhn, we had the 15/2 package without phone.
Its plainly a marketing ploy, and every company has them, but I just thought I'd rant about it today. |

Regardless of what you THINK you may know, they may have one without the battery backup, that can be fixed by request more than likely. IF they do have one with a battery backup the power would have to be out for quite a while in order for the service to be affected. If they're cordless phones then it wouldn't matter either way (which is the case more often than not). As for the bit about employees getting the highest speeds if they want, we still have to pay the premium for the speeds but we aren't required to have the other services....this is true. However, employees make up a minuscule percentage of the BHN service base and thus any excessive traffic that we put through wont have much of an effect. Whereas if everyone had 15/2 that simply asked for it without the restrictions the network would surely fall. If this is not understood in any way, shape or form than I don't know how to explain it any better. Lack of infrastructure? Verizon doesn't have near the infrastructure that BHN has acquired over the years. IF you want to complain about the inability to have those speeds then fine. IF you don't want to hear the truth about why you can't have exactly what you want then that's YOUR problem. As it's been said before, almost everything is being upgraded and you'll see some "improvements" on your end very soon. I can't convince or educate some one that doesn't welcome it. Once again, it's being changed and if it's not at the rate that you want it...it's not my problem...it's your's.
Don't like it? Switch companies. Our service guarantee doesn't cover ignorance or stubbornness. |

What I find so humorous is that the people who actually matter in BHN, like Pollo and Trip, who work in the NOC, couldn't care less what anyone says in these threads, they actually DO know what's going on, not just what some lead has told them and they're not in here preaching about how wonderful the company is or how much better it is than Verizon. THAT is pretty funny.

Everyone has free will.
I was just made aware of several up and coming changes at BH, and I have to be honest: I'm nearly always suprised at what Bright House intends to provide to the subscribers. I never had Bright House services before I worked for them, I used to have Verizon DSL, and never watched television. I can honestly say when/if I leave - I will surely miss the free cable - and pay the service fees for the features and benefits that they have to offer. |
