i'd love to get a blackjack but it wont interface with all the blackberry server stuff we have.. i get my work email on my BB and can actually use it to work remotely via email reasonably well.. if they added sametime to it and I got the ssh client i could work remotely almost as well as if i was in the office.. lol

pretty much what they said.. go on blackberryforums and find the upgrade for the software, doing that first will eliminate most errors, berry411 and google maps are awesome, definitely the first things to download. You can get up to a 2gb microsd card, the phone cant recognize a 4gb card yet (maybe with a future software release)
I had it set up to receive all my work and yahoo email, but it was annoying me... If you want GPS functionality, you can buy a bluetooth gps puck, and then you can get turn by turn driving directions (I never leave tampa so I dont really need it) It takes a while for the suretype to start to learn, but eventually i've notice that I have to correct it less and less. The battery cover muffles the sound quite a bit, I'm about to do this mod, http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ter-sound.html also, for a really good skin (perfectly clear, almost not noticible) I'd suggest the one reviewed here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/bbf-...body-skin.html And here is a pdf file full of VERY useful tips http://home.comcast.net/~tamsterra/B...Pearl_Tips.pdf |

the blackjack is cool but its more of a Motorola Q replacement... the main problem with the blackjack it has less then 3 hours of talk time on a fully charged battery. it comes with 2 batteries but who wants to carry around a second battery with them just in case the phone dies?

yea maps works great on it, the only cons so far to me is that you have to keep taking out the battery in order to insert a media card, but then again once its in there do you really take it out, NO!....other then that i wish the camera was better on the phone too, and i also wish you didnt have to keep clicking on the "back" button everytime you go back into a program. IE. if you looked up a number and hit the end key to close it, next time you open the phone book it opens to the last item you had so you have to keep cliking back and back, other then some of these little problems i think the phone is great so far. and has alot of potential still

not sure about playlist, i think you can play a max bit rate of like 96 or something, I cant remember off the top of my head.. (I haven't bought a card yet so music hasnt been a priority). Battery life is really good, its not uncommon for me to get home at night after using it all day and still have over 80% battery life. Talking on the phone seems to wear the battery down faster than anything else.
12.5 days? maybe if you barely use it, and turn it off at night, sure i'd say its possible |

i havent had any issues with the mp3's yet...its played everything so far and not bad sounding either...the media player overall could have been better IE: videos, MP3 , pics if there were more organization options available like locking out folders with passwords, if you could do a full screen feature or ..u can create folders which is pretty much the same thing as a playlist...the video quality on the phone is excellent IMO though...

A couple other issues I thought of this morning.
The phone has a visual indicator (a flashing LED) that tells you when you have new messages, but why doesnt it flash when you missed a call?? And why doesn't the alarm automatically repeat itself? Instead, it goes off 3 times, and thats it... it waits for you to pick up the phone, hit a button and CHOOSE to snooze, or dismiss the alarm. Poor thinking on their part. THE GOOD NEWS: There is software called BB Alerts, which will allow you to access many more colors of the LED for different events, and it will keep beeping at a set interval if you missed a call or text, or whatever you set it for. I dont think it works for alarms though Bad news, it costs $10 |
