Darkhouse's support is nice, but fail as far as technical knowledge, and actual support. Unfortunately you think this is alright. In the end, they(their services) are inferior to Verizon. This thread has gone way off topic. I was expressing my views and what I experienced for anyone who was thinking about making the switch. Last edited by Jeff : 10-06-2008 at 04:41 AM. |

No need to call customer support when you have no issues. Might be because my lines into my house are newly installed but i've NEVER had a problem with FIOS EVER. internet always blazing fast and the cable works perfectly. ONLY thing I have a problem with is the cable programs guide is a little slow/laggy at times but not too much to be bothersome.

Smart choice with the switch. If you have any problem, any at all, don't hesitate to PM me. I can solve just about anything for my fellow TF/TR members to ensure they have the best possible experience with Verizon. Also, if anyone is looking to order FiOS, I can handle that as well, so you don't have to talk to the less motivated "ghetto" customer reps.

However, I think I'll give FIOS a shot and see how things go. It may be a "grass is always greener" situation. If FIOS fails miserably, it's $99 to get out of the contract. I've been anxious to get FIOS for a couple of years now and it's finally available in my neighborhood. The thought of higher speeds, and saving almost 10 bucks a month is hard to shake off. As I said before, I've been a customer of BHN for more than a decade. So my experiences have varied. Some good, some utter failures. We'll see if Verizon can top the good or bad CSR calls.

Ya, having taken a lot of calls at BHN, a lot of people (I really can't emphasize this enough) like to call in and say that there is something that they don't like or complain about issues that they had 2 months ago but don't have anymore and raise hell about it and mention that they're going to switch to FIOS.
It was said always as though there was some way that I or anyone else could change corporate policy on the fly and it just doesn't work that way. To be truthful, it was kind of maddening in the past few months that I worked there because some people just simply want something that can't be given and then stomp their feet because they want to talk to the CEO, etc. As far as switching to FIOS, I'm considering it because it seems that my signals just aren't good enough and my HDDVRs are buggy. I had a regular digital box in my living room before and my roommate and guests would always complain because of how slow it went and it would lock up, I swapped it a couple of times with no change so I went and get an HDDVR (which is much faster) but I still get macroblocking and shit on higher channels. I really like BHN and I pay a lot (almost $200/month for cable and internet) but I'm tempted to see how things are with Verizon. My parents almost got FIOS but decided against it at the last minute because the CSR couldn't properly get their order together. If I can save money, get a better picture and get faster internet, I might be willing to go out on a limb. Gonna PM Chaddclops.... |
