weird reboot video issue

Ok I seem to have the weirdest issues with video cards...

PCI-E video card just a basic nvidia dual head card nothing fancy for work.

Everytime i reboot it defaults to 4bit mode and says XP can not find any information for my video card. I have to install the drivers and reboot and then it works fine. any ideas?

driver cleaner, download latest drivers, uninstall the card completely, reboot, install drivers, reboot....

may also want to look at your event viewer after each action

i doubt it, but driver cleaner is very powerful, it rips EVERYTHING out for your drivers so you can do a clean install.

unfortunately, nvidia has gone the way of providing generic drivers per the series of card....

One time I set up a computer with antivirus before drivers and the antivirus refused to let the install program permanently create .dll files in the system32 directory.

btw you have a lot of computer problems for someone with an IT "Engineering" degree

yea i DLd that last night hoping there was a fix. I just dont understand why it goes into a 4bit 16color mode. if anything it shoudl default to the WDM driver and run mirror if it cant find the driver. And there is no antivirus on the PC. I dont run antivirus. Im the super user, domain admin, and Domain Super user. i have the rights to install. its just odd. And i cant locate the ini file for the video settings to force it...
